This hotel has been amazing.. including the new transformations. The staff and the menu are excellent for Santiago, the rooms have been upgraded and the beds are comfy and nice linens.à

This hotel is a must on your way thro to anywhere in Panama.. ask for Ana, the manager. She speaks English and is a wonderful woman for help, suggestions, and info in general.

Room Tip: The older rooms are a bit small, but very clean and well kept. The housekeeping staff is excellent. The new addition will be GREAT and the pool very special. All the staff goes out of their way to make this a great place to stay for a night or much longer. Great to explore Veraguas from.

Not sure what happened with the folks with the other reviews here, but my room was nice and very, very clean. Immaculate sheets, clean bath, and pretty room with TV and WI-FI. A friend helped negotiate and get the room for $35 a night. Definitely don't accept what they first say is the price and mention you are a "Jubliado" (retired person) to get a discount for that.

I would recommend this place, but maybe check the room quality before paying. The women at the desk were not friendly, but the people in the restaurant were very nice.

Room Tip: They are opening a new section of the hotel soon -- the rooms in the older first floor section may be cheaper.

This place was really dirty! And I'm not talking about details like windows or hallways... I'm talking about dirty sheets, dirty pillows and dirty rooms!!! Thank God I always travel with some basic things... Such as ALLERGY PILLS. Sheets were not clean and there was even HAIR all over the bed and pillowsss!!!! I checked in too late so I couldn't go anywhere else. I had to put some pashminas and towels on top of the bed to at least try to sleep!!! This place was awful!

Very comfortable room, good food, excellent amenities.

Overall, it was really cheap, nice, and well located.

Highly recommended!

Stopped in late a few nights ago. As per usual here, the staff (maintenance, housekeeping) really don't care to provide one with clean accommodations. This is common for Panama & the excuses are endless in this place. Dirty sheets, dirty shower with busted shower head (they cost $2 here), maid trying to barge in at 8am with no courtesy knock. Hey, here's a novel idea: CHECK to see if the KEYS have been turned in before ruining my privacy!
In addition, there is currently construction going on. An addition to the hotel is apparently being built adjacent to the existing structure. How does this affect your stay? Bang, bang, bang. Clang, clang, clang. Saw, saw, saw. No apologies from staff. They don't care about you at this place so why make them any richer?
Oh, and the motel restaurant was dirty also. The coffee sucked. Huevos rancheros were a joke. The waiter was decent though...
Unless you are confronted with sleeping in the street or in jail, move on..quickly.

Room Tip: In these countries, ALWAYS inspect the room before handing over a dime. I should have but it was midnight when checking in after a 20 hour day. Pura Vida. Try the Hotel Plaza Gran David just up the road AND with pool.
