“Fantastic Picture Postcard Views, Clean rooms, Great staff”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

Me & my sister stayed at The Pantheon the beginning of June. The weather was perfect for us. The Pantheon is up a hill, but hey, with views like that!! We did walk up & down a couple of time, mainly at night, one bit coming up has no street lights, so be warned, a torch would be good. I downloaded a torch to my IPhone which really came in handy. Plenty of Taverna's down in the town, we walked to the other end by the Harbour to eat, also the small beach there was nice & quiet & clean. The main beach in Kefalos & Kamari Bay isn't really all that. Paradise beach is a must, it looked really busy when we got there, but if you walk along the beach, it becomes a lot quieter, sandy beach & clear crystal water.
Mount Zia is fantastic for sunset views, there are some lovely souvenir shops up there & a few restaurants that have great panoramic views, the food was great & very reasonable.
Kos Town was fab to, we strolled around the small alleyways which were full of shops.
We rented a car for 3 days, Janet sorted it all out for us. 5 euro a night for air con, we didn't need it. The views from the back of the apartments are just as good as the front, it was like a picture postcard, we opened the front door & let the breeze rush through, very refreshing.
We drove up to the old town, took some photo's from a view point which were amazing, drove round the other side to the monestry. We couldn't drive to the caves, the road was treacherous. We tried to drive to Cava Paradiso & Mamma's aswell, but had to do a 3 point turn on a small ledge as the road was so bad. Phew!!
The pool area is very clean, Janet is very accommodating, Panos was a life saver driving us back up the hill every day at 6pm. Some restaurants will give you a list back up to the Pantheon at night if you ask them. Very handy indeed.

Kos is beautiful & I enjoyed my stay very much.

Stayed here for a week in June - the hottest one of the year and 37 degrees! The hotel is very well located as long as you are able bodied. As walkers it didnt bother us but I can see how the steep hills may bother those less able and they would need a car. The food was lovely and very good value at 10 euros per person for 3 courses. Drinks were cheap. Pool lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful.

The only gripe I had was the bathroom in our room. Our shower was not great. We didnt pay for air conditioning but if I went again I would. The room was not as big as I expected, so having a fridge near to your bed that hummed all night meant you needed to make sure you had plenty to drink before you went to bed. We were warned about mozzies but didnt see any. We did, however leave the window shut until it got light.

Loved Kos and would definitely go back - but ..........

Airport a living nightmare. Queued OUTSIDE for an hour and a half. Apparently this is normal as they can only allow one flight in at a time. But you live and learn and maybe we would go in the taverna opposite and wait there in future. You gain nothing by queuing as there is nowhere in the airport to eat and drink and the duty free is expensive. Be warned!

First of all, the 'negative' and funnily enough at the same time the Hotels biggest plus, its location. It is a long (15 mins+) walk to the beach and main bars, so transport is a bit of a must, we hired a car for a few days from Manolis, brand new lovely Fiat Panda for just 25€ a day, bargain.

Now the Hotels biggest plus point, its location!! We had a room on the side of the Hotel but still had a wonderful view over Kamari Bay.The rooms are fairly basic but clean, nice to have a fridge to keep the wine cool, remember on the Island all water is heated by solar power so you might not get a hot shower first thing, we tended to wait untill early evening for a lovely cool shower to lower the temperature. The owners are very friendly and helpful, I don't think I've met someome as cheerful as Janet, a constant smile on her face and a lovely lady.

Air con and wi-fi are extra (I paid 20€ for 500 mins which lasted me all week) food and drink at the bar are very reasonable, large bottle of beer just 2:70 €, large swimming pool, plenty of sunbeds, 85C....heaven.

Highly recommended....but take into consideration it location.

Room Tip: They all have sea views!!

Just back from a week in early May at the Pantheon and have to say it was pretty perfect.
The views over the bay are simply amazing from any room you stay in and from the pool area.
The accommodation is basic but perfectly adequate and we felt very comfortable. Kitchen simply equipped but enough for your needs. Only thing missing was a hairdryer so don't forget to pack one!
Our room was cleaned every other day and the towels were always made into swan shapes and hearts left on the bed which was a lovely touch and always made us smile!
All the staff were so friendly and owner Janet becomes an instant friend, so helpful with any problems, queries, info etc.
It is a fair walk down to the town and harbour and quite steep coming back up the hill so would advise car hire or a moped or quad bike. We used Manalos just opposite Jimmys supermarket (highly recommended by the way, good prices and lovely people). We got a 125cc moped for 7 days for 95 Euro's which we thought very reasonable and no problems using it for the week.
We ate out each evening and there are loads of great taverna's in the town and up in the old town. Try Limionas if you have transport, they do great fish, calamari, octopus and our favourite, saganaki!
We did have lunch at the Pantheon and it was great food and everyone we spoke to said that the breakfast and evening meal was excellent so no worries if you don't have transport. Just enjoy a lovely peaceful location, amazing views, great food and a perfect host, Janet, to make your holiday a wonderful one.
We will definitely be back and would suggest you give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: They are all good!!!

Stayed for a week at end of April. From arrival Janet and Panos were so helpful. The room- 227 is amazing for views, looking out to the isle of kastri, food was excellent value- try the bean soup delicious- old kefalos town is lovely and so traditional - Zia is a must visit and if you are walkers then mount dikeos is a must- slight scree scramble at top but worth the effort!! Went to usland of kaliminos- unless your going out to climb the main town is very busy and architecture us awesome so worth a few hours, basically lived the holiday and the hosts including Louise and Maria xx

We had an all-inclusive holiday at the 'Pantheon' - It was BRILLIANT! The rooms are clean with extra facilities provided for self-caterers - so we had a mini kitchen consisting of a kettle, cooker and fridge which we did not expect and was pleasantly surprised and useful. The builiding is located on a hilltop so every room has a beautiful view - fortunately we had a top floor room which had a panoramic breath-taking view of the bay and overlooking the well kept and refreshing swimming pool. We stayed for 7 days and nights so experienced the variety of meals which are taken in a quaint area with a cosy homely vibe as it is open-planned with the social area of comfy sofas and bar. The eating area overlooks the terrace and the wonderful view of the bay. We were more than happy with our breakfast, lunch (check out the chefs special salad and the pizza) and the evening meal; consisting of 3 courses which was different every day including authentic Greek cuisine cooked by a Greek chef and served by Louise and Janet - two English friendly, lovely caring ladies.
The Pantheon was an ideal place for us - a quiet sanctuary - tucked up on a hilltop - we both love walking and swimming and found enough areas to explore. We could not have made a better choice than the 'Pantheon' it excelled all our expectations and we had the most wonderful holiday that we can look back on with fond memories. If you want to get away from it all and submerge yourself in a chilled, relaxed place of beauty then we highly recommend the 'Pantheon'.
