my husband and I stayed at kamari bay hotel all ok until two days into our holiday we was asked to pay for electric for our little fan we had brought from home we where told by the little man behind the desk that we had caused him a big problem he said you asked for sea view which we did and I give you but now you bring a fan and that his electricity bill very expensive and we would have to pay if we wanted to use our little fan 28 euro but said he would do us a deal and charge 25 euro or we could pay for air conditioning which was six euro per night we explained to him that we don't like air conditioning that's why we took our little fan with us as we do when we visit purto rico every year to which he replied that we could give him our fan and we could have it back at the end of our visit, or pay for it, reluctantly we give him the money. will never go to this hotel again. maria at the pool bar was great she always had a smile and very polite works very hard . this was our first visit to Greece and would go back again just not to this hotel.

Weve just returned from a great holiday to Kefalos and stayed in The Kamari Bay Hotel
After reading some reviews on here i will admit i was a bit skeptical of the hotel but im happy to say the hotel and staff were great The rooms are basic but very clean and adequate, as was the whole hotel. Yannis the owner is very proud of his hotel and rightly so .
We had a fantastic time in Kefalos and i would definitely return to this hotel again.

Room Tip: All rooms are of equal standard. basic, clean, and comfortable

Ive just spent 10 days in the Kamari bay Hotel and have no complaints whatsoever(except the obligatory middle aged man who wears his teams football top(usually English)is generally an arrogant a hole but can always be avoided as you can always hear them before you can see them.Myself,Wife and Grandson had a great time during our stay.Yes the Breakfast isnt something to shout about but for 4-5 Euros you can get a full English at many of the local eateries.Kefalos isnt somewhere to go if you are looking for anything other than a relaxing Re-charging of the batteries and this Hotel is perfect for that.Even the children that were there seemed to prefer this aspect of the Hotel. Our room was cleaned on a regular basis,we always had clean towels and if approached in a polite manner(which costs nothing)the Manager was always extremely helpful.Tony the Barman is one of life,s diamonds and prior to going to the Kamari bay I was expecting him to be someone I,d dislike but his humour is contagious and he has a heart of gold under the apathic veneer. For those who moan about this hotel having no activities,
poor breakfast etc etc I,d say you get what you pay for and if you want activites there are plenty down on the beaches(100 yards away).
Air conditioner is 6 Euros a day and its a must have when the temp hits the 30s.

Room Tip: Rooms in the annexe are right at the back of the hotell if you require total privacy from the rest o...

We had a great week here at the beginning of July. We had stayed on Kos before and wanted a relaxing holiday which is what we got. We enjoyed staying around the lovely pool area and talking with Maria in the snack bar (gosh she works hard), or walking down to the beach, mainly near to the ruins where the sea is warm and it is not rocky. In the evenings after our meal, we would sit around the bar area with Tony and the other guests enjoying the company. If you don't want to sit around the bar, there is a lounge area where you can relax. Yes, the rooms are small but how long do you want to spend in your room when you are in such a beautiful area such as Kefalos! All in all, a good experience, the hotel is run very well by Tony and the family, and also the pool bar by Maria. The pool itself is lush.

For the money this is a great value hotel. It is clean, friendly and in a great location for bars and restaurants. The pool is big and clean and you can get very good snacks from the pool cafe.
Yes it could do with some TLC but the whole holiday industry is struggling to fill hotels at the moment and this one is full all the time. So that kind of says a lot don't you think. Tony, thanks for creating a great atmosphere in the bar. We had some great laughs with you and some of the other guests. We would certainly come back for another holiday, especially because of the family owners and because of its locations. Probably more suited to couples.

The hotel is clean pool is nice room an ok size breakfast ok

On the downside owner can be rather dismissive of any concern, we had no hot water when we mentioned it we were told boiler works. we asked four times for him to arrange transfer from hotel but he just gave excuses why he could not

I got the impression if you stayed at the bar in the hotel a lot of the time you were treated more favourably

This hotel is fine and the staff are lovely just if you have no hot water or can't get something to work just put up with it

Also for some reason there are metal tubes about 8 inch high sticking out of bathroom floor
