I expected basic facillities as I have been to Greece many times but even I was shocked at the standard of the rooms.
The pool area was excellent and a warm welcome was extended to all. However, you can't sleep in the pool!! When we arrived we found our room was still wet from mopping and full of mosquitos. The bed sheets and towels had small insects in them. (Not bed bugs I hasten to add). I suspect they were aquired when on a washing line. (God I hope so!) The towels had holes in them, The bathroom door had a hole in it and so did the wall.
The shower basin was grubby. There was one plug for three kitchen appliances and there was some exposed circuitry on the floor near the dressing table.
The bed mattresses were very thin and very, very old. I suspect "Billys" has seen better days and they do have awards for excellence. Bed sheets are changed once a week. Bins and towels three times a week.
Kos is feeling the effects of the recession and locals indicated they have had a poor season this year. The Bars and Tavernas were almost empty. Many dishes/wines were not available. The Euro is killing the tourist industry here.
We will not be returning to Billys studios. Such a shame, Greece has always been my favourite destination. Think I will holiday in England from now on.More
