“Very nice stay”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

We stayed at the Aks Hinitsa Bay a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed our stay.
The staff was very kind and friendly and did their best to answer your desires. The dry cleaning service was the fastest i've ever seen : they ironed our clothes and brought them back to our room within a half hour... for 1€/shirt!!!! Unbelievable! That alone gets a 5* in my book.
The private beach is nice and quiet.

We got up too late and the breakfast buffet was closed since half an hour but they still made us what ever we asked for.

Overall a very nice stay. As for the location, if you plan on staying there the whole time and not getting anywhere else, then it's more than fine, but i found that if you don't have a car (not a problem for us, we drove there from Athens) then i guess it's a bit more complicated to reach Porto Heli's center. The other Hinista Bay Hotel is more conveniently located.

I still recommend it.

This is my fourth stay at Hinitsa and overall it was very good. The location is very convenient, the beach fantastic for children and generally very child friendly. The staff is also very good - always very helpful.

As is often the case - there is a good degree of grade inflation - this is more of a three star hotel.

The rooms are basic, but very practical, convenient, and clean. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of options. I just wish they had better quality juice - what is offered is somewhat "industrial" grade.

A minor disappointment this year was the lunch. For example, the pastichio barely had any meat, and the dakos salad barely had any tomato.

The WiFi is a disaster. The internet connection barely works - much worse than other years. Either the slow speed of their ISP became much slower (there was a sign about this in the lobby), or there are many more users sharing a super slow connection. What the hotel could do differently though is scrap the security. Since the wifi is free there is no point in further torturing your guests to enter their username and password every few hours

Regarding dining options, the buffet dinner is convenient if you don't want to venture into town, but not cheap at twenty euros per head. We were very lucky with our dinner choices outside the hotel:

a) the fish tavern next to the hinitsa bay hotel beach (a short walk across the beach and over the small hill) - H Taverna ths giagias - was excellent. Wonderful location, excellent service, and good fish
b) L'Artigiano pizza in Porto Heli - very good.
c) For Greek food, the tavern behind the roundabout at the entrance of porto heli. I forgot the name, but it's located next to a summer stuff/souvenir shop, with a wonderful garden under big pine trees.

Been there for four days in the end of June 2013 together with my wife and our child. It was my third time at the hotel.
The main advantages of the hotel is its location , a very cosy beach although short, and the great service of the persons who work for it, some individuals really stand out for their efforts and their willingness to help.
The main disadvantage is that the room i was given was not very sound proof. Surroundings were not really interesting (i found porto heli a bit boring as a place to be ). Also i found the price i paid a bit towards the high end , although i understand that everything is a matter of supply and demand.

A fantastic place to spend your short holidays. Excellent allocation on a wonderful beach very well equipped, with a fantastic view of Spetses island and a number of small islands. Ask for a sea view room on 4th or 5th floor. These rooms are so cool that you'd never turn on the air condition with an outdoor temperature of 32-34 celcius. You can access it by car or by boat. It is one of the most busy place for sailors and yachts.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms of 4th and 5th floors, are more quite and cool.

My wife and 2 year old son stayed at Aks Hinitsa Bay for a weekend on June 2013. We booked a sea view room as the mountain view rooms are mostly parking view. The lobby is renovated, elegant and the staff at the reception very helpful. The room and the bathroom was spacious, nicely furnished with all the amenities (mini fridge, flat screen tv, air-condition, balcony table and chairs) but you could tell that is old and need of a better renovation. The beach and the pool is just on your footsteps providing free sunbeds. There is a beach bar serving coffees, drinks and snacks but the prices need to be re-calculated as they are expensive. I definitely need to mention that at beach there is all the time a lifeguard helping anyone who may be of some kind of danger. Breakfast was plentful serving almost anything one could imagine (the hand made crepes were absolutely delicious) but for dinner there is only the option of a (rich) buffet which costs € 20 /person but the food was at least mediocre. Such a beach hotel with these prices should provide its clients the option to have an a la carte menu. Porto Heli is just a few minutes away with many restaurants and bars. The hotel has a deck on sea for water taxis serving the clients who wish to visit Spetses island (app.10 min) and costs € 35 per ride. The water taxi from Costa (which is only 5 min.away) costs € 20 per ride.
To sum up the hotel is ideal for families who want to spent some time on the beautiful beach and relax as the hotel provides all the amenities (very nice playground and mini club for the youngsters with a great variety of games and activities) and is just across of Spetses island which is great even for an afternoon walk.

Room Tip: book a sea view room on higher floor as the noise from the pool could be annoying

Stayed at this hotel 4 days in May for my vacation;

The + :
-View and location are amazing for a quiet next to the sea time
- Hotel is well mantained.
-Price is very reasonable.

The - :
-Staff hardly speaks English and doesn't smile.
- Food is not great (moussaka served the day after it was made, frozen pastries, etc.)

Overall I would recommend this hotel though they should improce on the service (not what we would consider an European 4 starts hotel)

Room Tip: Chose a seaside view , because the mountain view actually is a parking view.

Aks Hinitsa Bay is a 4 star beach hotel well maintained in a very beautiful environment just opposite Hinitsa and Spetses islands. The sea side room views are spectacular. The breakfast was plentiful with a big variety of almost everything that anyone may need. For dinner there is usually a rich buffet and for lunch one can have also ala carte or sandwiches. The rooms are big with lcd tvs with a variety of Greek and international channels. There is also a fridge which visitors can use for their water and other staff. There is a kiosk at the beach and another one near the pool side. The umbrellas and sunbeds are plentiful (free of charge) and cover all hotel guests. Some of the Umbrellas are right on the beach on the sea sand but there are a lot just a few meters back on the beautiful green grass. There are also on side tenis-courts, volley-ball, table tennis and for kids a nice kindengarden with various games. We had also wifi free of charge in our room. The hotel staff and especially the Management are very friendly and can take care of you. This is our second visit to this hotel during the last two years and we really had a very relaxing holiday and we look forward to come back again.
