Great place to spend the afternoon after a good meal. Expect to do a lot of walking, but it well worth it. We visited in the winter, so it wasn't as nice as what it would look like in the spring or summer when the flowers are out. This is Spain's equivalent to the Palace of Versailles in France. They have an amazing labyrinth (maze) on the property, good fun for the kids.

It is well worth spending a little extra to get a guided tour: these tours are available several languages and are done by real experts who know and love the palace. Go on the tour with a good guide and you will learn so many things that you would otherwise miss about the history of the palace and its contents. Highlights include the tapestries, the china and the magnificent paintings. Don't miss it!

We went here for a couple of hours and really enjoyed it, we didn't go inside the palace but did visit the gardens which are exceptional. Be sure to walk to the very end of the gardens to a place called "the sea". You really need to spend an overnight in Segovia to be able to do this, as there are already a few things must sees in Segovia. The gardens are also free to walk around in.

Plan on spending about 2 hours here at a minimum. Lovely place really and a great way to spend a half day if you are staying at the parador.
