“Our favorite in Lucignano!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

This place is our absolute favorite in Lucignano! Very reasonable prices and excellent food. It has a tiny entry that is easily overlooked, but go down the stairs, turn left and you enter a fabulous brick-arched dining area. Our daughter insisted Lo Schicchero be her 14th birthday dinner. The family has been serving excellent food for years ~ this is our 4th visit to Lucignano in 8 years and Lo Schicchero never disappoints.

“A great restaurant”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

My husband and I were in Lucignano and were told by a local to go to Lo Schicchero. We had the best seafood risotto and my husband had a great pasta. All the food was freshly prepared by the mamma in the kitchen and the daughter served the dishes.
The atmosphere was super friendly and we loved the food so much we came back the next day for more. Lucignano is a worthwhile little village to visit. I have a vacation home CASA Spello located in Spello, Umbria and some of my clients have already eaten at Lo Schiccero and they loved it also.

“Dinner and local wine with extended family.”
Reviewed May 9, 2012

Lovely restaurant full of interesting knick knacks very traditional feel. Expected something really special for some reason but it is Surprisingly simple homely style cooking, don't be scared off by some of the wine prices they do a lovely local wine at good value (under 20 euros). Good food but you may just leave with a strange feeling that your wallet is a little light, like your tummy.

“Good Value - Friendly Service at this family run restaurant”
Reviewed September 4, 2011

During our stay in Lucignano, we visited this restaurant three times. It is a little bit more reasonably priced than some of the other bigger restaurants in the town but nevertheless we were not disappointed by the food and service we had there.

Lo Schicchero offers a varied menu including excellent (and very large Pizzas), pasta and steak. On the occasions we were there, we sampled a bit of everything and all the food was well cooked and delicious. The restaurant is down stairs in what must have been an old cellar which has been done out. There is room for about 50 people, with only a couple of tables out front on the street.

As I mentioned before, the pizzas were excellent value at around 7 euros each and the night I had pasta which was lovely, it was only around 6 euros. Drinks were also reasonable and you could get a litre of house wine for about 8 euros.

We got to know the family who ran the restaurant and they were very friendly and had two gorgeous little toddlers who would come in and say hello. We really did feel very welcome indeed!

In summary, I would recommend this restaurant highly - it does not hold itself out to be a fine cuisine restaurant like some of the other "posher" ones in Lucignano which I thought were expensive, but you can get good simple tasty food and excellent service without paying through the nose!
