Description: Creating a cooking philosophy cannot be done in a short time. Susanna and Fabrizio to build their culinary definition started off from family tradition; thereafter their aim partially changed reaching a new balance between tradition and innovation. Of primary importance for them are a continued research for quality and the bond with the territory, without neglecting creativity The dream was "to open a restaurant where to go with pleasure to eat": thus a corporate executive - Fabrizio, and the manger of the family farm - Susanna, both with a passion for good food, turned into "a host and a chef" . The opportunity presented itself with the visit to the property that shortly after would have become, the home of "The Goccino" restaurant: a love at first sight, for the special environments that characterized it and the superb terrace overlooking the Val di Chiana. The business started off as a wine bar, to turn during the first few years into a charming restaurant. It began with Tuscan f

This ristorante was recommended by a friend in the area, we dropped by on a very hot Saturday for lunch. Sat outside in the shade of the building and proceed to have an amazing lunch. The most wonderful cold cloud like mozzarella with real tomatoes and delicious olive oil, one of those lunches I'll remember for many years. We both had a wonderful experience and excellent food.

The food has a new and interesting twist on the Italian fare that is offered in this area of Italy, truly quite wonderful well priced food with a very good wine list covering all price ranges. The staff are excellent. Don't miss this wonderful experience if your in the area or close by.

Our family of four with two teenagers spent a week in Lucignano and ate at Il Goccino twice - our first stop and our last stop. A fabulous place! The food was excellent and the service terrific. The first night we ate outside on the patio (not the terrace) and it was still lovely. Our waiter recommended a very reasonable bottle of wine which was outstanding. We had a chance to try quite a few dishes as we all had starters, a main course and dessert both nights. Starters included grilled tofu one night and tofu kebabs another night - both unbelievably delicious. Also had the il Goccino antipasto platter, the zucchini blossom/zucchini salad, asparagus filled ravioli with tomato and pesto and a swiss chard dish. All were excellent. Main courses included the salmon (with coffee beans), the local beef (Chianina) which was out-of-this world and the pork (unreal). The chocolate fondant dessert was a big hit and my coffee tiramisu was unbelievable, and I don't even like tiramisu.

We ate on the terrace the second night which offers gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside, the fading rainbow and the rising moon. A beautiful setting! This is an outstanding restaurant. We all loved it and can't recommend it enough. It's expensive - but well worth visiting more than once!

We were somewhat early (11:30) having not had breakfast after walking around lovely Lucignano. It was not a problem and we were made very welcome. We ate from the light lunch menu options, I had a lovely spag bowl, house wine was very good, all very well priced.

Would definitely return for dinner, noticed they had a lovely outside space with a view at the back. Having been to Cortona the previous day I was impressed with lovely little Lucignano and Il Goccino everyone was much more friendly and food excellent.

Visited here for an early lunch and it was Perfecto! Set in the middle of the market, this lovely restaurant is inviting, has great outside seating and also has views from the inside at the rear of the restaurant. House white wine is perfect for a light lunchtime drink, followed by a generous plate of Caprese Insalata, and Spaghetti Ragu. Light lunch but very filling. The fresh bread and crostini were accompanied by delicious mini tomato focaccia style bread. Olive oil was local produce too. Definitely a must if you should happen to stumble into this lovely friendly village.
