“Delicious food in lovely location”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

I visited Wheelers' one Sunday after a 1.5 hour drive, around lunch time after we found the place. My daughter was relying on her GPS which we found out later you should not use..When we arrived we were surprised to find out we could not use a debit card or Mastercard. Luckily, for once, I had $35 in my wallet so we were able to stay and eat. We would have been quite annoyed if we had to turn around and leave. Nothing is mentioned on the website or brochures about this condition which would be helpful......
Once we got to our table, we had a great brunch and really enjoyed it all. The museum was great and my grandchildren enjoyed the "Flying Fox" and animals.

I recommend it as long as you have coin in your pockets....

“A great way to start the day”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

This is no doubt a great way to start the day. The pancakes are home made, the sausages are home made, the service is great and in season when the sugar shack is going you can actually observe the making of maple syrup. By the way the syrup used is all made on site and for those that want to take some home very reasonably priced

“A family affair”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

We travelled here with my in-laws from the East Coast for a taste of local heritage. Wheeler's certainly didn't disappoint. A fantastic timber hall with a warming fireplace was the perfect touch to take the edge off the fall chill from outside. Breakfast portions were massive and the pancakes are delicious. The home made maple sausages were worth the drive by themselves. This place is quite busy in the spring when the maple syrup operations are underway, but it is nice and a bit quieter in the off season. Perfect for a family outing. The fact that its still run and tended to by members of the family gives an added respect for how much work goes into a place like this.

There's lots to do on the grounds as well with small exhibits to explain the maple syrup production and play areas for the kids. Want a hike, miles and miles of trails are here to greet you. In the spring there are hay rides around the property to show you the whole operation. I highly recommend it !

“The most amazing pancakes I have ever eaten!”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

If you are going anywhere near McDonald's corners this is well worth the detour. The pancakes are incredible and the maple sausage is the perfect complement. You can buy their syrup while you are there too. We were on a trip to Ottawa and made it a stop along the way.
