The building and service was nice. Ordered the 1847 Chicago style steak. Was a nice cut of meat but the dish was way over salted. The steak itself was rubbed in salt which ruined the cut of meat. The potatoes and green beans were also very salty. Green apple and cheddar salad was boring to look at but was tasty, and the pulled pork poutine was okay... except that the cheese curds weren't hot enough to melt.

Reservations are recommended for weekends. This is one of Brooklin's newer restaurants, with a nice appeal on the outside and and a relaxing yet vibrant atmosphere on the inside. They have an outside patio and they feature live entertainment. Began with wine, I ordered the house red, a South African Shiraz/Cab Sav and it was excellent choice with the filet. It did not overpower the meal. Quite smooth. My wife and I ordered the same appetizer, the apple, cheddar, cashew salad with cider vinaigrette. My wife being lactose intolerant and who made it known right off the bat to our server was able to have goat cheese as a substitute for the cheddar. BY the way, they would also substitute oil for butter if necessary. The salads were fresh and delicious. They are brought some warm and french crusty bread. We both ordered the 7 oz filet mignon, both cooked to our specs, served with fresh green beans and steak frites. The frites or fries were excellent. I detected some rosemary on them. For dessert my wife had a basket of a la minute madelaines which are very small sponge cakes with a distinctive shell-like shape derived from Northeastern France. There was no dairy in them and they had a similar taste to carrot cake. I chose the more decadent dark chocolate ganache cake with cherry Jam and crème fraiche sorbet. Both were a nice treat and a good way to end this culinary experience. Overall, the food was fresh, good quality, good service and nice ambiance. We are definitely planning on returning with friends.

Our first ever meal in Canada - and we weren't disappointed. Our party of 8 went on a very busy Wednesday evening and were served by the owner. A very friendly and attentive welcome and great customer service throughout our dining experience. The poutine and veggie Wellington were the best ever and great wine selection too. The best in Brooklin!

This restaurant is a local spot in our hometown and has been opened fora year, you would think a year would be long enough to get it down. The location is great, decor is great, bar area and views great and great ambiance. Too bad the service is terrible. Waited 15 min for a server to ask what our drink order would be. Our server kept apologizing for everything. The SA kept coming out with food orders and walked to tables asking if it was their order!!! Very inexperienced. At one point our server walked by and couldn't believe we didn't have our order yet!! He comped us a couple of drinks. Food was ok, presentation was good. 2.5 hours later we paid our bill. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, too bad as it has really good potential.

Went for lunch today with the menu already picked out in our minds.. They changed the menu today! Oh well it is Summerlicious season just now so we tried The Cheese and Onion soup. Very subtle flavours. The Quiche with salad or fries was excellent. The fries were very hot until the end but the Quiche was warm with first bite but cold after that. The temperature did not detract from the taste or texture. Very creamy. Probably the best I've ever tasted. Dessert was Panna Cotta with a raspberry coulis and fresh strawberries, apricots and candied fennel. So creamy and delicious that the next request is for a pillow to relax on as you wait to empty out a bit.
A very good selection of local beers on tap. Great service. Just waiting for the new menu to go on line.
