Stayed in this hotel for a wedding. It has a 4 star rating but in reality is probably more 2 / 3 star - I have never stayed in a 2 star & have stayed in many vastly superior 3 stars. The heat in the hotel is quite intense as there didn't appear to be any functioning air con'. After I arrived, I met some friends for a drink in the lounge - we quickly retreted to the hotel foyer as it was impossible to have a conversation due to the horrific Irish C&W 'singer' (I use the word loosely). We struggled to get served & when we were 2 glasses were dirty & 1 had a crack! On the day of the wedding after returning from the church, the bride & grrom struggled to enter the hotel as the bell boys persisted in unloading a coach load of tourists luggage & blocked their way!! The wedding food was OK & the service OK.
I had a booked a single room & ended up with a family room - 2 single beds & a double!! It seems to be their most common bedroom configuration as many other guests reorted the same - it appears to be a 'pack as many in as you can' strategy.
Breakfast was fine & freshly cooked, but the tables could do with a proper cleaning as they were sticky from the evening before - the breakfast room doubles up as a lounge in the evenings.
The town of Claremorris is like the town that time forgot, with very little going for it. The Celtic Tiger certainly never set a paw here. There is one nice retaurant, The Old Arch, but the rest of the town really leaves a lot to be desired. In summary, try & avoid this hotel or keep your expectations very, very, very low!

stayed with family, rooms were airy and clean, breakfast buffet good, carvery lunch excellent, evening resturant menu not very exciting. Would advise when booking (if bringing children) that you require single beds in family room not uncomfortable sofa beds.
Entertainment during week ---Country & Western music. Waitress Staff very pleasant and very child friendly. Beesy Bees Club great idea ----games, tea and late night video showing. Leisure facilities good(bring hat). Good value for money.

This is a modern hotel which offers good value for money. It is not at the core of Co Mayo's tourist area so it works hard to get its share of the market. It's very child friendly hotel, and whilst not travelling with kids myself (yipee) I could see that work hard to entertain the younger guests. The staff were all helpful friendly and from the locality which added to the general warm welcome.

Bar food was OK,breakfast was very good, travelling on business so not over concerned with the hotel facilites outside of a place to rest.Damm it,I'm getting old.

Room Tip: Appears to be a popular wedding hotel so if staying a weekend you may get late night music,be aware...

Called to make reservation. I was told they were busy and would call me back in five mins but never calledr back. Checked in at nine pm no food. Extremely loud music from11pm? Called manager at 1145pm. He told me music would finish by twelve but still going at 1230am. Two people checked in. Towels for one. Dreadful place! Avoid at all costs

We stayed here end of July and found the location good for touring Mayo although nothing much to note about Claremorris itself. The reception staff were not overly friendly and the bar staff were very slow in serving and despite sitting with menus we had to ask 2 passing staff to take our order, bar food was very nice. I am not overly fussy but our room was very dusty and had m&m's scattered around the beds where the staff didn't hoover properly, although bathroom was clean and the beds were very comfy. We really enjoyed the entertainment in the bar on the Thursday19th and Fri 20th July so didn't bother going to the country night. The staff in the leisure centre were the friendliest in the hotel and the changing rooms pool and jacuzzi etc. were excellent. Nice hotel just needs a little more emphasis on cleaning bedrooms and customer service!

Had meal here with friends, everything was great bar the steak, I ordered a 10oz Sirloin cooked medium and got a small striploin that was under cooked one end and overcooked the other end. It was tough and had no flavour. The side salad, veg, sauce, and chips were beautiful. What a pity they could'nt serve a good steak.

Fantastic short break. Kids and adults enjoyed the pool, food and service. I'd recommend it to anyone with kids in particular. Child friendly bar and restaurant. Close to Castlebar and Knock, the hotel was a great base to visit the county. Very good value. I couldn't fault the hotel in any way. We had a lovely stay and would stay again sometime.
