We've just come home from an amazing week staying at Manoir Theron. The house is a perfect mix of modern luxury and old fashioned, authentic charm. We were a family of 11 people and we had so much space- the rooms are big and comfortable and no arguing over the bathroom as there is so many! The garden and terrace is great as it allows you to choose between sun and shade, depending on your mood - and the kids loved the pool! The owners are fabulous and friendly and they are local and helpful without being intrusive. We didn't want to come home!
The route of the Canal Midi goes through the Minervois and this manor house sits right in the middle of it all. A short drive in any direction puts you into wonderful sights. The house itself is very comfortable for 6 couples but inexpensive enough for a smaller group. Quite elegant inside and out plus there is protected private parking.
We visited this gorgeous Manor House for my husband’s 60th birthday. It was perfect; beautifully appointed, well equipped and spotless. The owners, Richard and Rebekah, couldn’t have been more helpful. The rooms are large and furnished with an interesting mixture of styles. There is lots to see and do in the area. We loved it and will be back.
We wanted to host a large relaxing family holiday party in Southern France and found Manoir Theron in Pepieux on-line. It is a beautiful traditional manoir in a typical sleepy village deep in the heart of Minervois wine country. The house is spacious with ensuite rooms and has lots of charming period features. The pool and patio area are great for keeping cool on those cloudless blue sunny days in summer! We explored the area and had great days out in Minerve, Carcasonne and Narbonne. Our thanks to Rebekah and Richard who keep the Manoir Theron spotless and are on hand if you need any assistance.
On arrival I was genuinely gobsmacked, even better than the photos! Manoir Theron is hands down the most beautiful place I've had the pleasure of staying!
The bedrooms are the size of my last flat, the dining room fit for a king and the playroom could double up as a training room for the Korean Olympic ping pong team! The piece de la resistance however was the outside dining space! Five of our seven evenings were spent enjoying local fare in the peace and quiet of our front garden.
For those of you who start the day with a quick dip, fear not, the pool is perfect size to do just this. For those who don't, there is ample room to wallow and keep cool.
Situated in the picturesque village of Pepieux, which the English would call 'shabby chic', here it comes as standard!
I implore anyone lucky enough to be reading this to go and see for themselves and I hope you have as much fun as we did. x
The house is on the edge of a pretty, quiet little village beside vineyards which you can walk through. It is big enough that, with 11 of us, it did not feel at all crowded. The kitchen is big and well equipped, and the WiFi speed was sufficient for us. The outside courtyard is big with enough garden furniture to seat all of us for dinner with space to spare. The village is within easy reach of beautiful beaches, historic Carcassonne, caves and other attractions. All in all, we had a lovely stay.
Our stay started with a very warm welcome from Rebekah and Richard, who were very helpful with any questions and close by if we needed them without being intrusive.
The Manor was everything we could have wished for with luxurios bedrooms and superb decor, the kitchen was extremely well equiped and spacious.
Set in a beautiful part of the country and within reach of many lovely places to visit such as The Carcassonne, Canal Midi, Narbonne, Lac de Jouarres and many more.
Would definately go again.
