I stayed at this place, as a privileged guest of my brother, the owner. It is a fantastic place to stay, over its own mini-lake stocked with fish. The modern timber house was painstakingly built by the owner over a 5-year period with close attention to detail. It is a modern and immaculate 5-star kampung (village) house with beautiful hardwood timber flooring and walls. You can drop a fishing line over the railing and read a book in a comfy chair with a pinacolada while you enjoy the evening breeze. Watch the endless parade of birds eyeing the fish in the lake, including a stork, kingfishers, and an eagle or two. Or for the more adventurous and sprightly, climb over the rails and jump into the lake to cool down in the afternoon. Watch tree shrews and squirrels scamper in the trees that are literally in the house [the house was built around a couple of mature trees). Write that book or story that you have always wanted to write, or read that book in peace, comfort and tranquility. The gourmet Peranakan/Baba Nyonya food the owner cooks, from fresh ingredients bought from trusted local suppliers - or from fish that you catch - is not to be missed. Our Nyonya grandmother spent the whole day cooking meals fit for princelings when we were kids, and now my brother continues this proud tradition with his luxury bed n' breakfast - Ma would have been proud! If you are planning a reunion, or birthday party or any other celebration with a small group of people, trust me, this place has food that would WOW your family and friends a dozen times over and they will be talking about the experience long after the party is over. Treat yourself, your family and friends to a gourmet chill-out experience away from the bustle of KL or even Port Dickson.
