WOW...never have I come across such a complicated arrival to a hotel...this really puts you off which is such a shame as when you actually get to your room, it is really nice and very clean and comfortable.
So....things you MUST know before arriving at this hotel...
1. There is NO signage for the hotel anywhere except for a small sign telling you to park in the same carpark as Woolworths and BWS in Graziers Ln. When you actually get to the carpark at the end of a cul-de-sac, look to your right and you might see a small sign above some red umbrellas..a sign no bigger than a metre square above the very insignificant entrance telling you that you have actually arrived at the hotel. Go into the carpark and follow the signs down to Level 3, where there may or may not be parking. If not, apparently, you can park on Level 2 ( but we were only told this once we actually found reception after trying to park for about ten minutes). Once you park, hunt around for lifts that take you up to street level. The only sign that tells you roughly where THESE lifts are had fallen off the pillar in the carpark so we went to some other lifts where we found another couple also lost trying to find reception...there is literally no signage to tell you where reception is from this carpark. If you don't find these lifts and have the misfortune of finding the lifts that only take you Level 1 of the carpark, you then need to walk out of the carpark and up onto street level and go back to the small sign that you may or may not have glimpsed on your way in to show you where the hotel entrance is. Also worth noting it costs $15 a day per car to park in the hotel carpark!!!
2.If you manage to find reception be prepared to wait as it was very busy when we arrived and there only seemed to be two people who could check you in. Then, once you check in, note that to use the lift, you need to use your door key to get to your floor. So, as in my case, I went with two other friends, both of which were put on other floors so every time we wanted to meet we had to go downstairs to reception or be in touch by phone.
It is SUCH a shame...the people where friendly but for the uninitiated, it was a hassle that could so easily have been avoided by some sensible, visible and abundant signage. We were told that the hotel are working on the issue, but seriously, it is a totally unnecessary waste of time!!!More
