I stayed there for only one night but I could have easily spent some more time. I enjoyed the pool, the food at the restaurant, the lovely room & most importantly the awesome view at the top of the site. You could sit there for hours and just stare in the distance. I also went horse riding all the way to the top. Had a nice guide who gave me a bit of info about the location. Would definitely want to visit this place again!

I do not understand the other users' reviews that describe this accommodation as basic, although I did stay in a 4 star and not a 3 star unit to be fair. The unit was spotless, there were braai facilities, a well equipped kitchen, nicely furnished bedroom and living room, a bathroom with a powerful shower and separate bath, and the setting and views are second to none.

We had a puncture on our arrival and the staff voluntarily helped us change the tyre and also offered to fix the broken tyre free of charge; I was more than happy to tip such service. The staff at reception are wonderful, helpful and friendly as are the cleaners and other maintenance staff. Frank who helped us change the tyre was a legend and is such an asset to the resort.

We were a little worried that the resort would be too resort-like, but everything is spread out over a huge area, and indigenous bush is prominent around many of the chalets, so it felt truly magnificent. The stars were amazing too!

We loved the Leopard trail, where you can hike down towards the canyon - there are so many more glorious views in addition to the famous one from the viewpoint!

We will be back for more than two nights...

We stayed in guest house no. 1 - the 8 sleeper. For the price it was a bit mediocre. It's a renovated old staff house and it feels like that. But the resort was well maintained, the location is amazing and the staff were generally friendly and helpful.

Stayed for three night with our kids aged 9, 12 and 14. Really fantastic hikes, a bit short for our taste though. We took 3 hours for the longest - Link - one. Gorgeous views. Nice (very short: 1 hour) horse back riding. Ate the first night at the restaurant which is OK: relatively simple buffet (no a la carte); very good (and cheap!) wine. Then had braai. Not all chalets have same view.

Arrived to find something we didn't really expect - for anyone british it was a bit like a slightly up market style center parcs. Best thing about it was the view if you walked up to the high viewpoint over the canyon. From here you could watch the sun rise and it was spectacular.. good wildlife spotting in the grounds and convenient location to do panorama drive. Mediocre restaurant and friendliest staff member was the lovely trainee cook for breakfast. She was great. I would probably find somewhere else to stay if I return to Blyde
