Certificate of Excellence

We come back to Cedars of Eugenia Lake again this year.It was our second time over there. We were greeted with smile by Pippa and Gary.Office when you come to get keys became a store.Owners have done an excellent job transforming old property. In the office/store you can get a lots of things.Maps, baits, soft drinks, fish rods or wood for your evening .You can also get an emergency mustard or ketchup for your barbeque.Try also steak and chicken from Gary's freezer.Delicious.They upgrade "Game Room" as well number motor boats for avid fishermen has increased.Cottage No 1"Knotty Cottage" was very clean and well prepaired for our stay.Gary and Pippa ask us daily if we need anything.Place is very peacefull.Ideal for families with kids.We enjoyed nature as well visits from hummingbirds, squirrel as well Bluejay. If water in lake is to cold enjoy swimming in swimming pool with heated water. If you want to go Wasaga Beach or other attraction it's close .We are planning to come back to this lovely place again.

We have stayed here twice and will be back again. The first time was last Christmas when our family gathered from all over North America to spend the holidays together; eight of us fit comfortably in Cabin B. We felt at home right from the start with incredibly friendly and helpful service from the owners. The chalet was clean, cosy and very well equipped. Our second stay was just a few weeks ago in June and it was delightful to see the resort in summertime and to enjoy amazing sunsets and sitting around the campfire. Cedars of Lake Eugenia would be a perfect place to hold a family reunion as there are numerous cabins and many activities to enjoy. We also had babies with us and that worked out well, too. I can't recommend this place highly enough, we have thoroughly happy with everything both times we've stayed.

We took advantage of the romance in the woods package. and very glad we did. Worth every penny for the amazing meals, and experience. We booked the Knotty Cabin (Cabin 1). And right from the beginning Gary (The owner) was making me feel very welcome. The experience continued as the weekend went on and we came to love every minute of it.
We took advantage of some dog sledding referred to us by Gary which was also very enjoyable.
We cannot wait to book another cozy cottage and come back to try out the summer experience as well.

Room Tip: Cabin 1 has an electric fireplace as opposed to a wooden one in the other cottages. All appliances w...

Six of us stayed at Chalet B and had a wonderful time. The owners were helpful when we needed them, and unobtrusive when we didn't. One of our friends was stuck in white out conditions about 15 minutes away, and Gary was quite willing to drive us to rescue her in his 4x4 truck - talk about going the extra mile! The chalet was very well-equipped, clean and comfortable. We also rented snowshoes and trekked around Hogg's Falls (10 minute drive) and Eugenia Falls (same). I will definitely be back with my husband in the summer to try it again in a different season. Highly recommended.

We wanted a secluded cabin for a Christmas getaway from the city. We booked cottage one - Notty cottage as it was detailed as the most secluded. For winter activities they offered ice skating and snow shoeing (at a cost to hire) and the cottage was right by the lake.

Even before we arrived the owners were really nice and emailed us to check what time we were arriving and to check the booking which was a nice personal touch. It was really easy to get to only took us a few hours from central Toronto. When we arrived we were checked in really quickly and offered free firewood if we wanted a fire in fire pit outside. The place was decorated really nicely for Christmas which made it feel really homely.

Our cottage was at the edge of the site and next to the lake as described. It was secluded from the rest of the resort but it did back onto a house and yard, so not as secluded as we had hoped – I guess in the summer that would be covered in trees. Still we didn’t get any noise an anything so it was fine.

The cottage was really warm, cosy and had everything that you could think of utensil wise in the kitchen which was perfect for Christmas dinner – much more than others we have stayed in and very good quality. It was a bit dirty on the floor though and we had to pass a brush over it and wipe the fridge around.

The owners had given us a box of chocolates and a card to say Merry Christmas which really sweet. They also gave us free wifi which was great as we could Skype our families on Christmas day (I think it’s usually 10$ for the week).

The bed was really comfortable and the cabin was perfect for what we wanted, we could sit by the table eating our food and watch the sunset over the lake. There were only two of us though and I think if you had four adults you would be really on top of each other, so I definitely think this is just for couples or couples with small children. Also the hot water would run out so you would have to watch the time you spent in the shower if you both wanted hot water!

The weather wasn’t as cold as we had hope – although we did get some snow but we weren’t able to snowshoe and the ice rink (a small section of the kiddie’s playground) wasn’t frozen enough. There are no real walks from the cottage and you can only walk along the lake across the resort as it is private land. We did walk around the lake and up the lane on Christmas day as we didn’t want to drive but only on the roads. You need to get in your car and drive if you want a good walk – like to Eugenia Falls, but there are some really good walks around.

All in all we had a really lovely time. Anything that wasn’t perfect with the cabin was made up by the owners who were really nice, friendly people. They stayed on site in one of the cabins, and were only happy to help if we wanted anything.

I would definitely recommend staying at Cedars for a quiet getaway from the city.

We stayed a cedars Dec 2 and 3 2011. We were in chalet A, it was clean warm and very well stocked. Pots, pans, glasses, cups ,wineglasses, toaster, coffee maker,
and as much silverware as you could need. heated bathroom floor jetted tub and plenty of hot water. It has a very nice rec. hall with pool table, shuffelboard, foosball,
and table tennis. We are planning a summer stay looking forward to seeing the place with a lake out front. Thank you very much for everything.

Room Tip: We were in chalet A and did not see any other chalets or cottages
