“Consistently Great Food and Service”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Don't judge the food based on the way the place looks. It really is a roadside diner.

Always meets or exceeds our expectations. Large portions, colourful veggies, good soups and salads. Reasonably priced and friendly service.

Don't forget to leave room for dessert!

“Fabulous Ribs”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

We went for the ribs (Thursdays are Rib Nite) but went home raving about the vegetables. The ribs were failing off the bone fabulous but the vegetables were what set this diner apart from other rib houses. We had a choice of fries or baked potato and selected the fries as we'd had them before and liked them. The other vegetables consisted of braised cabbage, creamed corn, broccoli, and another dish which I think was type of red cabbage. Feeling rather hungry I selected the full rack of ribs while my wife ordered the half rack. Big Mistake! - the full rack could easily have been shared by two. Well, maybe not a big mistake, as I had the leftovers for lunch the next day. The ambiance is typical roadside diner - clean and cosy but not elegant. We'll definitely be back.

“Road side delight”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

We were on our way home form Collingwood after Christmas break. The GPS and the weather had conspired to get us lost 3 times, gas was getting low as were our sprits. We pull into a gas bar in Flesherton and next to it was The Flying Spatula. It's looks exactly as a road side diner should, and the menu reads like a million other diner menus. Oh but the execution is sublime. A perfect western sandwich on rye full of fresh green pepper, a BLT, crisp bacon, juicy ripe tomatoes yumm!
Nothing unusual about the ingredients, just good quality and well made , the pancakes ,the home fries all the best we've ever had. I would eat there every day if it weren't 2 hours away.
