It took us an hour to drive to the attraction and we paid about half the price to get in (which on reflection felt like the right amount). The staff were friendly but the place was very small and really only meant for sunny warm days. We were there about two hours 20 mins in total.

We took up Grandparent membership, which allows you to take up to three grandchildren throughout the year. Cost is £25-£40 depending on number of grandparents and whether you use direct debit. It has been a great help in entertaining pre school children.

Of course there are horses, some very old, some small and some who have given great service as police horses. During the day there are opportunities to groom them and to watch demonstrations. There are also hungry goats, fat pigs, free running chickens and the odd dog, cat or duck. There are indoor and outdoor play areas for all ages which are reasonably well maintained and some ride on trucks for kids around three years old.

After this there is a very pleasant cafe for coffee and cake.

Brilliant place to go for a day out. They have a lovely littlm cafe that's not too expensive and a few other farm animals. There's a place where you can watch presentations on the history of horses and there's artifacts on the walls, its quite interesting. The kids can go in a Shetlands stable and groom the pony. There's various different breeds of horses in the stables. There's an indoor and outdoor play area for the kids.
Also there's a picnic area near where the cafe is.
Overall a lovely place to take young ones, and especially if you love horses yourself.

We have been a few times now and its never failed to disappoint our family including a 5 year old daughter. Even when it rains there are things to do and see indoors! There's a good programme of daily events during the summer break where kids get hands on experience of grooming ponies and holding some smaller animals. It really is nicely put together - often charities such as this develop haphazardly but this is professionally designed clean and functional. The restaurant was really good with immacuate outside gardens on a nice day.
It cost £25 for a family but at the end of it we were able to buy an annual season ticket for just £15 extra. Great value! - and your helping a very worthy animal rescue charity.
