Beautiful homely cottage (just as pictured), well equipped, clean and great location. Cream tea and fresh flowers on arrival were a lovely touch. Football goal in the garden was an added bonus for our boys. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending.

“Charming cottage”
Reviewed October 4, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Windmill cottage, it was perfect. Dealing with the owner was so simple and quick, big thanks to Gail from the Button family. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard and the board games gave us hours of fun in the evening.

Amazing cottage, good location for exploring Cornwall, the stunning coast line and bays . Not far from The Eden Project off which I had not visited before well worth a visit on a day when the weather is not so good

“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed August 28, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We've recently returned from a wonderful two week stay at Windmill Cottage. It really is a beautiful house with everything you could possibly need and is in a perfect location with close, walkable, proximity to Trevone beach, a local shop and farm shop just further up the road.

We are a family of five with three special needs children two with autsim and one with Rett Syndrome, requiring assistance with stairs, bathing, eating and difficulties with falling/ataxia. The house has plenty of space, more than I expected, and the downstairs bathroom was really useful for our daughter with a very accessible shower. Having a gated garden was a bonus and gave us peace of mind regarding the road outside, which could get busy at times. The traffic noise wasn't a problem either inside or out.

The house was well located for Newquay airport and We had two family members fly directly from Dublin to Newquay without any problems. You are really spoilt for beaches in this area but also the south coast is within easy reach if you fancy a change. The Eden project is also well worth a visit and takes around 40 minutes by car.

We would highly recommend Windmill Cottage and would love to stay again.

Dear Alison,
Many thanks for taking the time to provide such a comprehensive review for us. I really appreciate that. I am so pleased that the cottage worked well for you, it sounds like you really needed a break! I have a sister with Retts syndrome so I fully appreciate the amount of work & planning that goes into a holiday with special needs children. I am pleased the enclosed garden gave you peace of mind, it was important to us when we bought the cottage with young children that it was secure so we could let them play without worrying about them and I can also understand it would be important for your children too. The downstairs bedroom and shower room has also proved to be really useful for previous guests with elderly parents or disabled family members, I'm glad it made life easier for you too.
So pleased you had a good break and by the sounds of things managed to get out and about and see all the fantastic beaches and local attractions - I hope you would like to come back again, theres lots more to do & see!
with very best wishes
Gail

“Fantastic place for our family of 5.”
Reviewed July 13, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Perfect spot from which to explore Cornwall. Very homely and tranquil place to stay. We felt Windmill Cottage really was a home from home! Beds, showers, kitchen all first class. All you need to sustain a family after a day on the beach (10 min walk away)- or before setting out. Padstow with supermarkets and shops- and several fabulous eateries- a 5min drive away. Two in the family are coeliac so catering always an issue. But many gf friendly restaurants (fish and chips at Rick Stein's- and pizza at Rojanos! Even cream tea!!). The only challenge is the exit and entrance quite narrow and a challenge if you're in a 4x4 with poor turning circle. But, make a game, breath in and put someone on watching duty!
