“Amazing place!”
Review of Almalomb

Almalomb
Price range: $13 - $46
Description: Almalomb is not a place. It is my place. My family’s place. Almalomb is my heritage, a 19th century water mill housing a restaurant and museum of the mill. It is an out of the way place where life goes slower. Where we strive to do it right, which may take more time. We serve food that is natural. You can feel the flavour, which derives from time and place and sunshine and rain and cold and warm. You know where it came from. During the sunny season our garden terrace is open. When the warm showers arrive you can retreat to the covered porch and warm yourself by the wood-fire stove. Our bread is baked on-site. The best bites from our menu are available in our little shop on-site. Occasionally we also host concerts and other cultural events. Our walls are open for artists to exhibit their work. Just come as you are, as you want to be.

The old mill has been renovated with a perfect taste and love for the history, for the family. It is a really peacful place with a great culinary food and drinks, where you feel special, feel at home. The stuff is very friendly and kind. Must visit!

This restaurant is in a beautiful setting, with lots of different areas and interesting gardens. It has been lovingly renovated and the owners are happy to show you around and explain the history of the mill.
The menu is limited so you are sure that all the dishes are fresh. My favourite was the Watermelon and tomato gazpacho starter. The menu is changed every few weeks and if I lived in the area I would be a regular.

Beautiful renovated old houses & mill, in a very nice garden, green grass, big trees, levanders etc...
Polite staff, wonderful interior. Yuo can choose the terrace or different inside rooms.
Little selection, continuously changing interesting menu, 3 starters, 3 main course, 3 desserts, fine syrups, lemonades, beers and wines. Welcome bite was home made ryebread with smoked salt, butter - OK.
Cauliflower cream soup was fine. Home made tagliatelle with onion, sage - super.
Salmon&vegs (carrot, turnip, potato, spring onions, peas) - perfect fish, crunchy fresh garnish. Desserts (Pannacotta, pie with cherry) was ok too:)))
Coffee was a little acidulated:(
Price/value OK!
Worth a trip from Pécs, highly recommended.

Thank you for your feedback and pics! I am not yet totally happy with our bread, we are still looking for the rye flowers which suit best for such sourdough bread; not easy :( But we will not give up until it is perfect!

We have just had lunch at this new restaurant in a beautiful setting of an old renovated mill in Hosszúhetény.
Fine dining provided by chef Roland Illés (ex Jokai).
An excellent meal with a warm welcome and good service.
A short menu of local seasonal produce to be changed every two weeks.
We will be back for the next one.
