Very good hotel to stay Irapuato for a night or two. Excellent staff. Beds are hard as a stone. Breakfast average.

Rooms were neat clean and comfy. This hotel is next to Starbucks and the biggest mall in city... what else can you ask? They give you the breakfast for free which is not a proper breakfast but at least you can get some papaya, instant coffee and pancakes while you find something else. The attention was ok though I only stayed there for one night. Can't complain at all. Great value for your money.

I stayed there for a week and don't have much to complain. The hotel isn't the fanciest place on earth, but it's very confortable, clean and well furnished. The decoration is also very nice. Regarding the restaurant and food, I was not used to the authentic and ridiculous spiced mexican food (TexMex doesn't count) so my organism painfully took a while to adapt to it, but this is my fault, not theirs. But, I have something to complain: the Internet was not working when I arrived (according to the staff, because of an earthquake the week before). Not even at the lobby. After some insistence the staff managed to open their private wireless network (another ISP) to the guests, but the signal was not fair event at the lobby let's say in our rooms. So, Internet only at the lobby. Most of the staff doesn't speak good english, but they try it hard and were always very nice. I left a very good tip.

Conveniently located across the street from Plaza Cibeles, one of Irapuato's largest and
nicest shopping malls, City Express is a model of streamlined efficiency and cleanliness. We were warmly greeted by the reception staff and quickly checked in.
As you can see in the pictures, the rooms are fine, nothing fancy but neat and clean with
comfortable beds. The bedspreads are very thin but they had 2 extra blankets in our room. The air conditioner is large and cools the room down perfectly, but does not have a thermostat so runs continuously. The maid would tun it off every day so the room would be rather warm when we got back in ( they also do not run A/C in the hallways to save electricity ). The staff was very nice and helpful about getting me an ironing board, iron, etc. They have a self-serve a continental breakfast in the lobby until 11 a.m. every morning with different yogurts, cereals, fruit and oatmeal. There is also a Starbucks Coffee in the same parking lot of the hotel ( Yay for Venti shade grown Coffee!!), and the
ginormous mall across the street has all kinds of goodies.

Anyone who likes the lobby of a Class B office building in your local suburbs -- or who enjoys the antiseptic cheer of a waiting room of an American dentist's office -- will probably like Irapuato's City Express. It doesn't give you much to complain about. Or to remember.

This is a textbook example of a business traveler's hotel. The building consists of straight lines. It is the epitome of a rectangle. Nice, straight hallways. Nice, symmetrical elevators. A nice, square shower in your room, with nothing curvy like a bathtub to break up the lines.

A pleasant breakfast comes with your stay. Just go to the rectangular eating area and sit at your square table.

The value is quite good. The staff treated me well. I booked a room online and was surprised that the hotel had no record of it when I showed up. But no matter. There were more rooms, so no harm done. Likewise, it was odd when our room key worked the first time but didn't work an hour later, but the staff said this can happen with those magnetized strips, so they redid the key and all was well again.

The property is on a main road. It is right across the street from a two story shopping mall. Its location would make it good for groups of travelers. We were there as part of a group going to a wedding.

In short, if you are in town for a short business stay, you will not be displeased with City Express. You won't fall in love with the place, but that is not why you would go there to begin with. It does its job well.

Very rarely do I give a hotel a perfect rating. City Express Irapuato deserves it from check-in to check-out.
A very warm smiling receptionist performing an efficient check-in is the first delight. A bundle of perks such as free local calls, free breakfast and free wireless Internet (or 1 free hour in the business center) complement it.

The rooms are spotless clean (the hotel is quite new... some 9 months old). Although they are a bit smaller than your average American hotel room, they are fitted with everything you need for a pleasant stay, including a very complete cable tv roster.

The hotel does not have a restaurant but there is room service from good nearby restaurantes. The continental breakfast buffett is served in disposable ware, so it's not fancy but it's good and complete (think Etap hotels in Europe).

Business travellers will enjoy the 24hr. business center with very reasonable prices for printing/photocopying and eveyone will be happy with the small but functional gym.

In summary, City Express Irapuato is not a Four Seasons but makes for a very very pleasant stay at reasonable prices (paid US$55/night). If you're in Irapuato, make sure to stay here. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better hotel/deal.
