Resort Borgos
Reviewed December 30, 2013

You will be impressed as soon as you arrive at Borgos. It is a relatively new property and the place is built right. There are rough edges that need to be worked out as the people in other reviews suggest. However, the issues are with all properties in the area and I suspect it is because of a lack of available talent on the ground. They have the right intention, just not enough experience and training. The resort has a new manager who we spoke to and seemed like it was headed in the right direction. Suggestions for the resort. On the room front, improve the bathrooms (water pressure, exaust, shampoo, etc.). Given that it is winter, have more that 2 tea bags for tea/coffee. On the restaurant front, probably have more choice and to improve service for large groups set up buffet(s) so that service will be easier. I dont think the current staff can keep up with the requests. Breakfast also needs more choices.

On the Safari front, Do go to the elephant safari and book way in advance. The hotel needs to help people plan their trips and play a more active role in selecting jeeps with drivers who are more knowledgable. I dont think people would mind paying a little extra for knowledgable drivers/guides/mahouts who are not in a hurry. Maybe offer guides along with drivers on the jeeps. Trekings and tea garden tours to fill the otherwise empty afternoons would be a good idea.

The evening dance think is a good idea but more entertainment in the evenings is probably a good idea, other wise people are left haggling over the few seats in the garden.

Would visit again as this was a good trip and to see if the hotel has lived up to its potential.

Borgos resort is a huge modern property on the fringes of the Kaziranga National Park. Its one of those properties where the intent was right but the heart was missing. The location of Borgos is one of it's biggest advantage. The rooms are well equipped with all the modern amenities, the restaurant is average and the service tilts towards being called poor. The kitchen is not geared to handle large groups and crumbles if it's full. Billing at the restaurant takes almost 15 minutes after you call for the same. Check - in was breeze ...however check out was a never ending one. Mornings and Evenings at the resort were good as it was November and the weather was good with the camp fire lit in the open sit out of the resort for the guest to enjoy. One strong advise to fellow tourist --- the Elephant Safari @ Kaziranga National Park is super waste and is completely staged.. avoid taking the Elephant Safari --- It will kill your precious morning. Instead take the Jeep Safari which is more practical and covers a large area.

Room Tip: Check out the Bathroom fittings as most of them have developed some kind of leak ....

located just inside the part at the very heart of kaziranga,Borgos is the ideal resort to be in kaziranga.Very much like the old style forest guest houses it sits alone admist a forest and can be reached throgh a narrow lonely alley from the main road.
The property itself is a sprawling complex ,with great rooms ,beautiful gardens, golf courses, bird watch towers moats and boats.the ambience from the reception to the rooms blends with nature.
i recommend it to first time tourists to the national park, and those who want to spend a day or two at leisure, but only if you are not very fussy about your food and service in the hotel. The restaurant, complimentary buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner was sufficiently good, though there is lot they can improve on.Noone actually craves for gourment dishes in the wild.

What the hotel lacks is indeed the service part.Till now its poor .Ushering in was slow, reception lacked warmth and proffessionalism, room service was slow. i hope the management take notice and improve. The property is new ,open less than 6 months.i think with little effort and vision the owners can make it the best place to stay in kaziranga.

Room Tip: rooms just opposite the reception building are better for a more scenic balcony view.

We have visited your restaurant on 18th October.
We are truly impressed with the imposing lobby, impeccably maintained environment. We did visit only to savor the delicacies of the newly opened restaurant and equally of its quality fare only to be disappointed with the following aspects:
- Service is truly abysmal. There is neither promptness, proactiveness or professionalism in attending to the customer across the touchpoints: ushering in, taking the orders, refilling in water or clearing up the table or even making the table prepared for the incoming guests
- Quality of food: its neither fresh nor tasty. We have ordered for tandoori roti and side dishes. Rotis are soggy and side dish is bland. Even the starter, Dahi Kabab is real disappointment.

Room Tip: Got to prompt the wait and service staff only to be served in time
