“Perfect little retreat!”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

We have just returned from a two night stay here, which was heavenly. Aovik (the manager) (+91 9854685716) was a truly brilliant host, arranging our jeep safari in Kaziranga and onward bus tickets - ask if he'll come along on the safari with you as he's super knowledgable about birds and mammals in the park. Our bamboo huts were perfect, with a little balcony area, locally produced furniture, hot water by the bucket whenever you need, plenty of blankets, sheets, towels etc. The food was yummy as well but if you like a bit more spice definitely ask for that before they prepare otherwise they'll err on the side of caution! We also met the owner Ronnie whilst we were in Jorhat - again super helpful, and runs a tour company for the North East - he is a very keen traveller himself and will be able to point you in the right direction for this lovely corner of India.

We stay in Nature Hunt Eco Camp in October, 2012 for 3 days and 2 Nights. As this was our first trip to any National Park, we were searching hotel/resort which will also give us a peaceful environment and feel of JUNGLE away from all the modern facilities. We wanted to enjoy not only our Elephant and Jeep Safari to Kaziranga but also the stay in hotel/resort. Nature Hunt Eco Camp was the perfect to all my expectations and it really made my first Jungle trip memorable and exciting.

Room Tip: Cottages are the best but also try Tent for different sort of experience....

The first statement that comes to my mind when i think of Nature Hunt Eco Park is “Abode Amidst Nature”

Right from the time we entered through the gates till the time we bid a sad goodbye, we felt welcomed. Hospitality shown by each and every member of the place was heartwarming.
Nature Hunt has cottages and camps in the midst of tea garden. The place is neat and comfortable and relaxing. Every member of the Nature Hunt team made sure that we had all that we needed. We realized that each member had an artistic streak in him. It is visible in all cottages that were so lovingly and meticulously built by them.

Each cottage has a small balcony with a table and chairs. It’s a perfect place to have some coffee and rewind the day bit by bit.

The food served at Nature Hunt was delectable. Simply cooked keeping the taste buds in mind.

A special thanks for the authentic bamboo rice and chicken. It was yummy.

Thanks to Ronnie, Aovick and every single person for making our stay memorable. Kudos.

This rustic eco-camp, nestled amidst a tea garden, is great if you want a wilderness experience that is truly different from what is offered in regular resorts/ hotels in India's national parks. The amenities are basic, but well maintained and clean. The cottages, furniture, light fixtures and most things visible were handmade using locally sourced bamboo/wood/elephant grass. It felt great to reduce our ecological footprint, in contrast to some of the recent vacations we've done. The location is great, the 200m between the cottages and the highway shut off all the noise of vehicles. And the resort is a 10min drive from the Central zone, 30 mins from the Western Zone and 45mins from the Eastern zone- which seemed the case for most of the good resorts around the park.

The food is cooked and served homestyle and the uber-friendly staff customized everything to our taste and preferences. The guides/drivers they provided were locals with a great eye for spotting rare birds and even the most heavily camouflaged creatures. My husband, being a pretty avid photographer, was elated with the pictures he got, thanks to the guides' enthusiasm and patience while he took his time perfecting each shot.

In all, a great place, that offers unbeatable value for money.

Having traveled quite a few places in India for winter vacations, I was wondering what must be my next destination for December 2011 and a friend of mine suggested "Kaziranga National Park".
I googled and found Nature-Hunt Eco Camp. I did look for other places too in and around Kaziranga but this place caught my eyes.

I made multiple calls to Nature-Hunt Eco Camp with my various queries and they had answers for all my queries, must appreciate their patience.

I booked the place for 3 nights. Rest is history!!!

First, the place.
This place is amazing, very very 'eco', true to its name. Cottages are very nice, very comfortable, homely, safe, secure, attention paid to detail, well cared for.
It's all green, tea estates all around, lots of birds chirping away to wake you up early in the morning!
Very peaceful, serene.

Then the People.
The staff, the owner dudes, the Manager -- everyone knows what they are doing and they know why we are there and they have a lot of knowledge and information about Kaziranga and the places around. Fun guys to be with.

And the Food.
Lip smacking, prepared to order, very very authentic. On time, every time.

Last but not the least - worth the Money you pay, every single penny.

Oh yes, overall service -- Outstanding.

I stayed here with my wife for 3 night (and then extended for another night!!) and these guys conducted Jeep and Elephant safaris for us in all the ranges (West, Central & East) of Kaziranga, conducted very professionally without any fuss. And they know which safari is better for which time of the day and in which range. You just let them arrange all your safaris and you relax!

We had a fantastic stay, excellent safaris, very good food, great service, very good staff to hang out with when you are just lazing in the camp. You won't ask for more!

I strongly recommend this place - 5 out of 5.

The only issue was -- it was freezing cold in the morning and they didn't have water heaters in the rooms. But we were supplied with adequate hot water. Hope they have that fixed now.
But who cares? This place is JUST AWESOME.

I will go here again, with family, friends -- for more fun and for more Nature Hunt.
You will fall in love with Rhinos.

Room Tip: If you want a private bathroom inside your cottage, book one of those cottages. If you want to stay...

This is a fantastic place. The food, architecture is Assamese, beautiful, rustic and aesthetic. Two young Assamese guys have set up the place and have a feeling for what we want (i.e. no concrete jungle). Aovick is person running the show, competent and pleasant and can organize anything. Just behind this place is an amazing village, easy to wander hours and no feeling of 21st century except the odd satellite dish. Surrounding the village are the tea plantations, and a bit of forest. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Nature Eco-Hunt Lodge for 3 nights and 4 days in December 2011. The grounds are very aesthically designed, it lives up to its promise of looking like an "eco-friendly" place. The cabins are all huts made from completely natural material and there is absolutely nothing there - no TV, no phone, no Internet, just clean beds to sleep on, and a clean bathroom - which is EXACTLY what we wanted.

Nature eco-camp is a very small "resort" where you should come if you just like good food, warm staff and and are not looking for artificial entertainment. Bring your book and plenty of enthusiasm to snooze. Of course, the twice-a-day wildlife viewing excursions (which they arrange for you) will take up most of your time.

The food (local Assamese fare) was absolutely DELICIOUS! What's more they took very good care of some special diet needs that we had. Overall, since it is a small place run personally by the owners and their immediate assistants, the service is very personal and friendly.

We have hardly any complaints about the place. The only issue we had was that 2 out of the 3 mornings that we were supposed to wake up early and go somewhere, they did not wake up in time to give us our tea. (We had to wake them up!). Still, the staff was generally so nice that we did not get too angry about this.
