After a very long, bumpy ride, this was a wonderful surprise. The luxuriously rustic ecolodge with cottages built on stilts provided a once in a lifetime experience. Our rooms very among the best we stayed in during our 18 day trip to India. The showers felt like you were bathing in nature. Walking along the Diphlu River banks, interacting with the local children and watching the elephants getting their daily baths made for fond memories. The food was outstanding and the staff provided for all of our needs. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This lodge is a nice place to stay while visiting the Kaziranga National Park in search of wildlife for photography. You actually have your own cottage and the walk to the restaurant is not far. The staff at this lodge would do anything to make your stay pleasant. The National Park was very close and well worth the visit for wildlife.

Had a great time - wonderful place, would go back again. Ronesh kept us in good humour and the park is stunning. Rooms were very comfortable with many nice touches. The Machan was a great place to meet and the staff were very keen to help.

One recommendation - please serve fresh fruits and not canned fruit!!

Room Tip: Most lodges in kaziranga are close to highway - so carry ear plugs if you are sensitive to road nois...

The Diphlu River Lodge in Kazirianga is clearly a world class accommodation. The beautiful cottages made in traditional tribal slit style gives you the authentic staying experience in this beautiful National Park. Right on the edge of the river it really is an amazing place to stay . And ah the food !!! heavenly .. we can try anything for lunch or dinner but what we want is a traditional British breakfast to start the day. That's what we got here !!!. I think this is one of the best jungle lodges in India. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening walk by the river . The guides and drivers are very knowledgeable. Ask for a jeep driver by the name of Prafula, he is an amazing spotter. Amazingly none of the guides harrow on the fact of showing you the "Tiger" but rather takes pleasure in showing the whole plethora of wildlife available here .I was escorted from Guati Airport by a guy name Amithab , who was really knowledgeable, speaks excellent English and kept us entertained throughout the 3 hour journey to the lodge. We would have wanted him to continue with us throughout the tour , but it seems he had other assignments. You might want to ask for him too.Diphlu River Lodge is certainly the best in this region and the price seemed petty when it came to the services they offered.

We recently visited Kaziranga park and chose to stay at Diphlu River Lodge after reading many reviews. The place was absolutely awesome.

Some of the Cottages were facing the Diphlu river and was quite serene and relaxing. The rooms and pretty much everything was built with locally available resources such as bamboo and thatches. The quality of place and the people was simply astounding.

I should commend their impeccable service and the staff (Lily and Nampale) are always ready to help with a genuine smile. We felt very welcomed and taken good care of. The Food was very very good and had a nice variety and good taste.

Was overall a complete experience and the place is about 30 mins away from the main reserve although situated right across the reserve with the Diphlu river separating it.

Definitely recommend to anyone who plans to visit Kaziranga National Park

The review will not be complete without the mention of Mr. Ranesh Roy, a very knowledgeable man who made our trip and the visit very endearing. He kept us a real good company and provided a lot of insights into the North Eastern Culture and history.

The Diphlu River Lodge in Kaziranga is situated out to the small river Diphlu, which runs through the Kaziranga National Park. It consists of bungalows on stilts amidst rice paddy. Each bungalow is made in local style and with the use of local materials, very charming, and with the facilities a modern hotel room must have. The food was very good and at times also local, and the service extremely friendly. A good place to stay! This is important for during a trip to Kaziranga National Park you will be many hours in the hotel. A visit to Kaziranga National Park is normally an early morning visit on elephant back (6.:00-7:00 hours), a walk to the nearby village or tea estate (9:00-11:00 hours) and a drive in the afternoon (14:30 -18:00 hours). So it is nice with a comfortable hotel. Kaziranga National Park is a huge park with grasslands, wetlands, and forest at the bank of the Brahmaputra River in Assam. Two-thirds of the world´s total population of the one-horned rhinos are here together with wild elephants, deer, wild buffalos and tigers - I did not see tigers! It is a great experience to visit the park. My trip to Kaziranga National Park was arranged through Jungle Travels India, Guwahati, Assam.

We recently spent 4 nights at DRL where we found a great group of people who really look after you. We were there to experience the National Park that is close to the property. We had cottage #5 which is at one end and not overlooked. The veranda looks over the small Diphlu river. The food and service was excellent with good variety at all servings. The DRL team took care of any need. We had some fantastic safari's both by Elephant and 4x4 (of course the best 4x4 is an Elephant :-)). We saw Rhino, Wild Elephant, Tiger, birds of all types and on (great Park). If you are in this area try the DRL, it worked for us.

Room Tip: We had #5 (at one end, on it's own.) 4 min walk to main building that has lounge, bar lounge, an...
