Built by King Bana for his daughter Usha at this beautiful location on the bank of Brahmaputra to save her from Princes. Mythology says, Usha and nephew of Lord Krishna fell in love and got married. They made plan . Chitralekha , her firend helped her in searching Aniruddha. It is said that Usha found her wouldbe husband Aniruddha, in her dream. And Chitralekha, her friend o was good in drawing-art was going on drawing photos of different princes. At last she found Aniruddha. Finally marriage was solemnized at Agnigar and Aniruddha took her with him.

The hillock at the bank of Brahmaputra speaks of the history. It now maintained as a tourist place. One need to purchase ticket for entry. You can also spend time to get fresh air there

Agnigarh is a small hill rather a hillock on the bank of mighty river Brahmaputra . A fort as per history was built by the Rakkhasha King Bana who during Kurukkhetra battle , faught for Kaurav. His daughter Usha who was very beautiful was in love with Aniruddha, nephew of Lord Krishna whom she saw in her dream. King Bana kept her in Agnigarh fort so that no one can take her away. In fact her friend Chitralekha who was expert in drawing picture was going on drawing different princes to Usha and finally could recognize Aniruddha.

Agnigarh is now preserved as a place of visit for tourists. The location is calm and quiet. One can have a look of the vast Brahmaputra and its sandy beach to a long distance.

It is a beautiful, has clean and calm surrounding. The place provides a good view of the town on one side and majestic Brahmaputra on the other.
