Stayed for 1 night after watching the place take shape over 3 years from Sherton across the road. The décor is terribly brown throughout the hotel. Bathrooms are not especially well planned and will need good maintenance to prevent them getting smelly around the loos, for example. However the showers are fantastic with none of the water shortages suffered at Sheraton. Bedroom is good for a business traveller with a desk and good lighting. The AC works well, is controllable and the beds have nice duvets, though my pillows were lumpy and smelled of sebum. Food is adequate for a short stay though after a couple of nights you would get bored with the single buffet - this is definitely an hotel for a businessman on a budget and a short stay. Hotel is convenient for the airport. The swimming pool is the subject of derision across at Sheraton as it is just a long pond in very public view. The fit and finish of the place is shoddy with water dripping through the ceiling in two places I saw. My biggest criticism is the confusing fire signage and worst of all the open stairways and the central atrium, which is open from lobby to top floor and would allow the corridors to fill with smoke in the event of a fire downstairs. This is a shocking design flaw at a time when architects should be designing hotels for maximum fire safety, no matter how lax the local by-laws. Finally being on a small plot some of the rooms overlook a restaurant next door where there are unsightly stores and noise from people outside. Across Isaac John Street is a popular club and the bass beat from the music resonates through the hotel from about 10:30 into the early hours.

After Check in, we started with a fantastic buffet at the Hotel restaurant, we hadn't eaten all day and it was such a pleasure to replenish our stomachs with such wonderful cuisine and the Chef also took the trouble to ask after our meals...my friend even got his shoe polished in the ATM gallery while I was drawing cash and that's the first time I had come across a shoe polish machine...from the concierge to the bell hops, every member of staff was courteous and helpful and just made my stay, the best ever personal hotel experience I've had in Nigeria and I intend to keep going back again and again...

This has to be a hidden gem in Lagos, rooms are so clean, staff friendly and helpful, food amazing... Bar is for residents or residents guests only, so there are none of the frequent visitors you may experience in other Lagos hotels!
