Spent a couple of nights and enjoyed it very much.. This place is full of history, you just sit down to enjoy a drink in the garden close to the small river, and you see images of Shawki (prince of Arab poets) sharing with you verses he wrote about the same place many years ago... The service is excellent, food is authentic and diverse. I'm already looking forward to go back there next time I'm around Shwatreh...

We chose this hotel because of its location near to the Ksara vineyard and Baalbeek. A little on the pricey side (185 dollars or 145 euros) but the room was comfortable, clean and well decorated. Bathrobes and toiletries in the bathroom. Probably the best option in the area.

Massabki hotel is one of the most elegant and luxurious hotels in the Bekaa valey.
It is very peaceful and is surrounded by a beautiful garden and river.
The rooms are large and nicely decorated, and, most importantly, spotless.
Everything is perfectly organized, and the staff is really polite and efficient.
We loved dining on fresh cheese, frogs legs and salads in the garden.
The restaurant offered an amazing selection of local wines.
We will certainly go back

I remember stories my grandmother used to tell me about moments spent at Massabki hotel with my grandfather. They used to visit at the end of every summer, right before fall settled in. Now i know why she always told stories about it...

For the past couple of years, Hotel Massabki has become a regular getaway on the calendar. Whether for a business retreat, a romantic week end with my wife or a family trip with our son, Hotel Massabki always offers that X-factor which makes every trip memorable.
Cozy dinners in the chimney room, lavish Sunday buffets, outdoor rich breakfasts, action-packed dancing nights, picturesque natural surroundings to name a few, all complemented by a friendly and personalized service.

The rooms are very clean, fitted with flat screens and cable TV. Free Wi-Fi is available in the rooms and the lobby level and the food is great!

For those who haven't yet, I highly recommend you experience a stay at Hotel Massabki - you'll will not get enough of it!

My stay at Massabki was a really memorable one, the staff were very friendly ( Characteristic of the Bekaa region where people are the most welcoming/hospitable in Lebanon ) the room was spacious, the price was fair, and the breakfast was simply excellent Lebanese food, do not miss out on the dairy products they offer as they are some of the best, Chtaura region is host to most of the Lebanese dairy companies and many small private dairies who produce the finest cheese and Labneh ( close to sour cream in looks but just a million times more tasty ).

Around you, there are plenty of places to visit, from famous lebanese wine power houses ( Ksara, Kefraya among others .. ) to the numerous monuments in Baalbak , you won't miss out on famous tourist attractions, and given it is on the Damascus highway , you can reach it within 30-45 minutes from Beirut.

Definitely a good hotel, high standards , welcoming staff and quality food, highly recommend for all travellers who wish to experience Lebanon far from the busy Beirut life and closer to the historical regions.

As a North American traveler in Lebanon, I'm somewhat picky about hotels (if they don't offer free WiFi, I don't even bother). This hotel -- with free WiFi -- was charming, even in winter -- their off season (there can't have been more than a handful of us staying there). Service is welcoming even though I was the only one at breakfast, and just one of four enjoying dinner. I was only sorry that the two pairs of birds (swans?) in residence during the summer were not there when I visited -- and, really, it was too cold to sit outside for anything. Should my return trip from the Bekaa Valley take me through Chtaura, I'll definitely stay here again. Be sure to check out the historic photos on the wall -- it was opened in the 1920s, though it's been completely modernized and (I'm guessing) there's a whole new modern wing to the historic building (but that part was closed off since it's winter). The only downside? It's right on the main highway between Beirut and Damascus (but, then, that's an advantage when you're trying to find it and you don't read Arabic). It's far enough back from the road that the noise wasn't bothersome at all.
