Good place for a half day's walk. The cafe does good basic food and snacks - lovely friendly people. There are free car parks at both ends of the lake.

Lovely surroundings . Nice little train. Can get really busy though and facilities quite poor. A proper cafe would be good.

Great for dog walking or a family day out.
Train rides for the children, cafe, boating and visitor centre.
You can do a short walk to the cafe or walk approx 5 miles around the lake.

We have visited Rudyard on 3 occasions, twice whilst passing through and once for a weeks stay in a lakeside cottage. In our cottage we could fish, went on numerous walks and then enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening. However for the passing through trips, 1 hour was adequate enough to grab a coffee and sit and chill (depending on wind direction). Not sure if I would find enough to do there for a one day visit however now our kids have grown.
