I visited the restaurant on both nights of a long weekand after watching England vs Aussies.
Starting with the 2nd night, we were adjacent to a hen party of 20+ women, then later a family with babies. This was not the best night with orders getting muddled, noisy and a bit frantic!
However, on our first night, my brother and 2 sons had a lovely evening; nice banter with the staff, good prompt food which would be delayed if you asked; the food itself was fab and the wine selection excellent. had a great nighta and the price too was family friendly. Try it!

Room Tip: try to go in the right hand side of the restaurant; away from the kitchens and staff traffic

Good local italian styled food served by attentive and hardworking staff but in reality stylish pub grub in less than adequate darkish surroundings - not a place to take your girlfriend on a romantic date but more a well priced family venue.

Not the fastest service - but served with a smile.

We have been visiting this restaurant for about 5 years, probably 1 a month on average and it never fails! The food, the service, everything is spot on.

We usually go for the 3 course special - £5.45 all day Sunday.

Try it, you won't be disappointed!

We have been for lunch approximately 8 times in the last 3 months. We have always had the table filler tapas which is a chefs selection of tapas. It cost £30 for 4 people! We have had the most amazing food, the service has always been good and they have taken time to make an effort with our children too. My son loves going especially after seeing the magician a few weeks ago and the face painter and balloon artist on Sunday. We have never stayed in the hotel so can't comment on that but the restaurant is first class and is well worth a visit! Enjoy x

We needed accomodation in Ryton due to a family funeral and wanted to stay in walking distance of family in Ryton. All the other hotels were full and luckily we found room at this hotel. Value for money but the hotel or would call it a motel - you check in at the bar of the restaurent - no reception we found after walking along the corridor and then back to the restaurent to ask where we check in. The rooms were large had tv and wi-fi but the shower was either hot or cold unless you had time to run for a long while. Check what time breakfast as varied from the time stated in the room. Be wary asking for scramble egg as was not very nice and did not ask again the following day. The staff were very efficient for the breakfast service and full english breakfast was otherwise nice and lovely fresh coffee.

We ate in the restaurent on the sunday late afternoon - not a good idea, they cannot cope with the numbers for one booking . I phoned and booked the table for 18 people but when we arrived had to wait for 15 minutes before we could go the our table. We had to wait a while for our starters which slowly arrived and the same for the main course. The food was nice but 5/10 for the service and no apology for the delay which would have been nice.

Overall hotel room was okay - value for money but the service in the restaurent needs to be improved - more staff. Would go back to eat but only for a table of 6 no more.

Room Tip: Check the room as we were given a room at the end and as soon as we opened the door smelt of smoke. Luckily we were going to check in later in the evening but changed our mind otherwise they might not have been able to do a quick room change.
