It was an absolute pleasure to stay in this Villa. I felt as though I was staying in a 5 Star Resort. The beds were very comfortable, the sheets and towels were high quality, and our stay was very enjoyable. The house had every amenity you need, from beach towels to beach chairs, a new BBQ, well stocked kitchen,etc... The pool is very private and we used it everyday. On the top floor is a jacuzzi overlooking the ocean. The beach is a block away and a perfect place to watch the beautiful sunsets! The villa is nicely furnished, the dining room table is gorgeous, and the sofas were very comfy. The owners have installed WIFI and we were able to watch many English TV channels. Overall, I highly recommend this villa, it will meet all of your expectations.
While the rest of the USA was gripped by the sub-zero temps of January 2019, my best buddy and I - along with our ladies - had 2 weeks or magnificent weather in Play Langosta Costa Rica.
We arrive in Liberia and overnighted at the Hilton Garden Inn before taking a 1 hour shuttle to the Villa. The one way price for all four of us was $80.
We arrived early and they were kind enough to allow us an early checkin which really helped out.
A couple of small problems were found upon arrival in the nicely appointed 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bath Villa.
We had a pool man every other day to clean the pool and hot tub and a maid about every three days. Be aware there is no set schedule and they knock before entering but forewarned.
The aforementioned hot tub was not HOT. The water temp was same as the pool. Nice for cooling off but not used at night. Reported a couple of times and nothing was accomplished to remedy the situation.
The kitchen is well appointed with large fridge, microwave & convection. But lacking in some items. Cookie sheet, measuring cups & spoons, mixing bowls and few other things. If you don’t cook - it wont matter.
The living room and master bedroom have televisions . Neither of the 2nd floor bedrooms have TV’s. No problems for us but kids would complain.
The WiFi worked well on the 1st and 2nd floors but not on the roof. You had to get by the rail overlooking the pool to get a connection.
And speaking to the roof, where the not so hot tub is, you have an excellent view from there after climbing 33 winding steps.
While we were there construction was going on next door and they start work at the butt crack of dawn 6 days a week and work late every day. Be aware if you go anytime soon.
A small convenience store is nearby and is handy for beer, beans, rice, etc.
We decided not to rent a car and used a drive we got thru RPM to go into Tamarindo - $5 bucks each way for a car load of 4.
Be aware at every restaurant/bar we went to there was a 10% service fee added to your bill. And while paying in Dollars was accepted, we didn’t always get a fair exchange rate. Figure you are going to pay about $10 more for a 4 person dinner tab over what you would pay if you used the local Colones.
