Quaint and quirky, six (adults) stayed and there was enough room, two separate sitting areas, one wood flooring the other tiled, modern kitchen well equipped. The bedrooms were on the small side but hey its a cottage. large contemporary bathroom upstairs, shower, WC and small sauna downstairs. We did not get to try the sauna as the weather was so good, but this is a nice touch and should be well used in colder months. The large garden is private with a table and chairs which we used for dining al fresco. The house is situated in a gorgeous small village near to Sherwood Forest and Rufford Abbey is apx. a 10 minute drive and well worth visiting. You may have read comments about the stairs, they are steep and anyone with mobility problems may find this a struggle. However the sprightly 72 yr olds in our party had no problem. House was clean and comfortable, ideally situated, a pub across the road and another with a bistro restaurant two minutes walk. Tesco and Asda apx. Five minute drive.
We will be returning.
We stayed here as a group of four adults, a toddler and a dog. It was perfect for us and well located for local attractions. Spacious rooms but a cosy feel. Walking distance to two pubs, easy parking and a garden. Sauna is cool although we didn't actually use it! Good selection of DVDs and nice to have a large eat-in kitchen. Good value for money - we would return!

Beautiful cottage, beautifully decorated in a beautiful village! Lots to do in the area without having to travel very far! Great local pub!
My family and I stayed here for two nights this week, four adults and a baby.
The service we received from the agents was excellent. They were courteous and efficient and they dealt with all my queries quickly.
The cottage itself is perfectly situated for Sherwood Forest as it is a 10 minute drive away in a beautiful quaint English village. There was ample parking and it was lovely and peaceful at night.
On arrival the cottage was clean and the house itself was lovely. There were nice little touches like a BBQ in the garden and board games in the lounge.
There was a well equipped kitchen with all the crockery and cutlery you could need! As a self catering cottage it was like staying in a home from home.
In summary a great stay and great value for money. We would definitely go back.
We have just returned from a lovely stay at this beautiful, well equipped cottage in the heart of Sherwood Forest. It was my 50th birthday and what a place to celebrate. The cottage is a very spacious 3 bedroomed property, well equipped for all our families needs. Wi-Fi was an added bonus as was the sauna. I could not praise this cottage enough, it is in the heart of Sherwood forest, not far from the Major Oak and Rufford Park. It ticked all the boxes for location, quality, tranquillity and there are lovely walks. A big thank you to all concerned for the great service from start to finish booking and bond return.
We will be returning and would definitely recommend this peaceful and lovely forest holiday cottage at Sherwood!
Thanks again to the lovely staff, it makes such a nice change these days!
Real value for money. Quaint charecter cottage with all mod cons. Peaceful village location with two very different but welcoming pubs close by. Sherwood Forest Country Park is certainly worth a visit and only approx 4 miles away.
White Horse Cottage is in a lovely village, 5 miles from the Major Oak visitor centre. It is well equipped and spacious, though watch out for the low beam at the bottom of the stairs - ouch!
Two lounges and a lovely big kitchen table mean plenty of space for a family to spread out, and two loos/showers mean no queue for the bathroom - nice big bath too.
