We visited the reindeers on a windy, cold and wet morning, and the weather didn't seem to matter at all. The walk to the reindeers is beautiful, through a valley with a river through it, and the reindeers are adorable. There is also quite a bit of comedy there, they're naturally funny animals (I hope they won't be upset for me seeing this).
I can't wait to bring my daughter there and visit them in different seasons. The guides, Bobby, Joe and Vince, were brilliant, very knowledgable and approachable with questions.
My favourite reindeer was Cheese, she was always around the people trying to get some food, and also Sherlock, a calf, simply cause my daughter is a Sherlock fan.
Hope to go there again soon, so much fun : )

My wife and I took out 2 teenagers up the mountain to visit and feed the reindeer and we all loved it! The guides were fun and informative, the scenery on the walk up/down was stunning and seeing the reindeer in the "wild"was a real treat. Even our teenagers were smitten and only took their phones out to take photos!!! Highly recommended.

This is definitely worth a visit. Beautiful scenery, a nice guided walk and a decent amount of time with the herd.

Highly recommend a visit to see these beautiful reindeer in the stunning natural habitat of the Cairngorm Mountains.
Get to hand feed and feel the lovely soft noses. The herders are very welcoming and knowledgeable.

We visited here as a family of four and from the walk up with the very friendly and informative guides to the encounter everything was magical. We were by no means the only ones there as we were part of a large group but this didn’t really spoil our day. It’s a nice easy un rushed experience in a stunning location.

We visited with our 2 young grandchildren who were enchanted at seeing “Santa’s Reindeer”. The relatively modest entrance fee was well worthwhile. The young staff were very friendly and helpful with great knowledge of the animals. My granddaughter was particularly pleased with the hand made badge she got and by seeing the 2 baby reindeer. For the more hardy visitors they also do daily trips to see the herd in their wild habitat on the mountain.

Attended expecting to go with an intimate group of 15 or so people (as someone in a nearby town had mentioned was the case AND the website leads one to believe you’ll miss out if you don’t get there to buy tickets as soon as it opens), but was very disappointed to find there were around 50 or so adults & kids, herded in procession up the path to the expansive reindeer enclosures on the hill.

That said, there are plenty of reindeers to go around, ample opportunities for great photos and very friendly and knowledgeable guides at hand to answer any queries. At the moment, be prepared for strong windchill and wet/snowy ground!

Many thanks for your review.

We do have to limit the numbers on the Hill Trips daily, mainly due to the amount of car parking available to us, but this limit is relatively high and we can take up to about 70 people on the Trip on busy days. However, we have in the past sold out by 10.15am (having only opened at 10am) on an exceptionally busy day, so we do have to encourage people to come early to make sure they can get tickets. There is nothing on our website to say that we only take a very small amount of people, and I assume if someone you spoke to said that this was the case, that they must have happened to visit on a quiet day and made that assumption themselves.

As you say however, there is plenty of space once out on the hillside amongst the reindeer, and we allow everyone to leave in their own time rather than chasing anyone away. This means that everyone has time to come and chat to the herders and ask questions, and can wait until it's much quieter to do so if they wish.

Glad you still enjoyed your visit, and it is indeed into winter now, so hopefully everyone coming soon will be prepared for the weather conditions!

Great place to snuggle and feed reindeer. The personal is super nice and have some great information about the reindeers. Not a hard hike up hill and the reindeers are super friendly.

Amazing experience
