Absolutely beautiful, clean and unspoilt. Let's hope it remains that way! The beach stretch must be at least 2 kms long and has some great fishing spots if you are interested.

Agonda beach is beautiful. Lovely clean sand and warm sea. Each of the beach shacks only have a few sun beds so your not in rows and rows of other people.
If you walk along the sand you get to the rocks and can sit and watch the crabs and fishes in the water.
A very peaceful place to be.

Agonda is in the Southern part of Goa, it's laid back, even by Goan standards :-)
Getting there (=the journey) : There are two routes one can take...a) the secluded coastal road which runs from Velim via Canaguinim to Agonda. This passes through densely forested area for 10-15 kms, which would be a treat to nature lovers. More spectacular are the ups and downs as the road runs over hills. The final approach where you get a view of the Agonda hillock from a peak with the sea just over 100 metres from the road is breathtaking. If you're planning on going on your scooter, remember to fuel up, as you might not get fuel for the 38 km stretch from cavelossim to agonda b) The national highway route - NH17, which also passes through a forest, but you don't get half as spectacular views. This route is safer if you're running in the night/evening, with medium vehicular traffic
The place (= the destination) : The Agonda village itself is pretty basic, though you have a range of accommodation to choose from (including A/C rooms & beach facing rooms, literally). You;ll get all the basic things like mineral water, groceries etc at tiny shops.
The beach is clean, empty (mostly foreigners), though you do have lifeguards. If you want to get away from the world and just sit on the beach with a beer to ponder about the mystery of life & why you're not half as cool when you get back home, this is probably better than other south goa beaches. But if you want to get into the water, i found it rougher than the Cavelossim & Benaulim beaches. Plus the water is a bit murkier due to the amount of sand the water churns up....
If you plan to visit this, please take out a day & stay overnight. 3-4 hours won't do justice

this beach is so serene and amazingly clean as compared to the many other more famous beaches in goa..
the 1st time i got here i was so taken in by the calm atmosphere and serenity.
its like u can just sit here for hours on the beach and just listen to the waves crashing on the shore...
early morning it was a sight to see as i woke up at 6am n went for a jog on d wet sand...
by seven i had an danish woman teaching yoga to a few other early risers... i joined in.. with the water gently lappin at my feet in d the sand i really had a awesome 1hr of yogic exercise...

a smooth coffee and a hearty english breakfast later at one of the few beach shacks, a wonder full beach bathin and a lil tannin ... i returned home feelin a lot lighter at mind heart and body....
a must visit if u in goa...
do book a eco hut n enjoy d night there... pure bliss

Agonda is a clam beach in South Goa. Its very beutifull with a very long sea shore. There are many Hotels and resturants in the shore. Those who want to spend holiday in Goa with out any noises of patying, this is the right place. MarineSecurity in the beach by tourism department ensure our safety in the Sea
