“Where time gets lazy!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Here you have nothing much to do except lazing around, taking a dip, taking a long walk on the beautiful beach, reading the long unread book, showing off some skin(with a tan),guzzling bear or sipping cocktail. This is a place for lotus-eaters; the air here makes you indolent.Yet a few days here can easily refresh you for the rest of the year. This place has become very popular recently(the second best 'beach in Asia for 2013' rating on tripadvisor is a jewel in the crown). However, I am afraid that this popularity will ultimately take Agonda beach along the Palolem way.If this place becomes too crowded and full of tourists (which is probably inevitable too), this wonderful place will lose its character. I,like many other lovers of Agonda, will not like such a scenario.

“One of the best beaches in Goa.”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

If you like remote quiet paradise-bounty-postcard-like beaches, where the world stands still, Agonda is the place to go!

Due to nesting sea turtles at the beach, Agonda is relaxed and quiet during the day and VERY quiet at nighttime, where the only light you'll see on the beach is that of the stars and the moon. And if you're looking for an occasional party on a weekend, Palolem Beach is not more than 20 min. rickshaw/taxi ride away.

Agonda Beach offers many good beach huts, garden huts and the like. To find a good place to sleep, with a decent restaurant is not difficult. The best ones are called Simrose, White Sands and Madhu.

When looking for a place to stay in Agonda, a good advice is to check out the entire premises before deciding. Many places look beuatiful from the seaside, but might look like wrecks on the backside (which faces the small village road). Take a 360 degree look around. If the entrance from the village road looks welcoming and nice, you have a better chance of finding a good place with an overall nice atmosphere. Check out places like Simrose, White Sands and H2o to see what I mean.

In Agonda life is slow and easy. The locals are very friendly, the many holy cows on the beach and the small road are a beautiful and lovely sight, which creates a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere to this lobely little getaway.

I have been at Padnem Beach, Palolem Beach and beaches in Cochin and Kerala area and in my opnion Agonda Beach, is by far the best beach experience I ever had.

“Lovely discovery”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Even as a regular visitor to Goa, I have not seen much of the south, so this December headed out to discover a new beach, Agonda. Not yet as crowded as the nearby Palolem beach, it is clean, quiet and a perfect place to relax with a book. The sand is much softer and the waves easier for the kids than Candolim. We spent a wonderful time with family taking long walks, reading and swinging to some music at the shack. We were pleasantly surprised to see good life guard patrol on the beach.
Must visit for everyone looking for a quieter and cleaner beach to spend the day. Although I do hope it'll stay that way forever.

“agonda paradise”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

just returned from agonda - went last year and again this year.
just love this part of goa. so relaxing and safe. tourists here are friendly aswell.
we stayed in a hut in agonda and rented a scooter out. we travelled around on our scooter nearly everyday taking us to other beaches and seeing the local villages and area and the town of chaudi. so cheap. great choice of restaurants or shacks with gorgeous food. its everything you would want for a great holiday.
the only negative is that this time we decided to fly into mumbai then onto goa.
what a mistake that was - takes too long and flight was no better. wouldnt do that again by choice. mumbai airport is a joke with paper chases with stamping security. took over 3 hours to go through security both ways.
would definately return to this area.

“We liked the South end”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

We were staying near Palolem/Patnem and a lady we met by our hotel pool said she didn't like Agonda - dirty and there were rumours of untreated sewage in the sea. We went there twice anyway on our scooter and really liked the South end of the beach. The waves were much bigger than at Patnem and we managed a bit of body surfing. At the South end of the beach it curves right round and is much more sheltered - a very pleasant walk. The beach and the road behind it, lined with shops and various accommodation options, seemed pretty clean and tidy to us and we certainly didn't fall ill after swimming in the sea. We did wonder about staying in Agonda on a future Goa trip but the more we checked it out the more we thought that for us staying near Patnem and visiting Agonda was a better option. Of the beach hut places we checked out White Sand looked good, although it is at the N end of the beach, with dirt road access.
