“Don't miss it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2014

My cousin lives in Prejmer so every time I visit her, I visit the fortified church. I love this place! I fell in love with it the first time I visited it, and in my eyes it just keeps getting better.

2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2014

Perhaps it is a nice place, but monday it is closed.
And it is impossible to find on the net when to go.

“interesting church”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2014

Our tour guide brought us to this very interesting fortified church in Transylvania, and it was worth the trip. We (wife, 18 year old daughter, 13 year old son) enjoyed walking around the entire top part of the fortification to see what a soldier protecting the town would see. It is dark without anything but natural lighting, and the stairs to get up and down are steep, so my 78 year old father-in-law sat down in front of the church to enjoy the view.

“Impressive fortress, needs maintainance, rude manager”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2014

Today we went to this fortified church by public bus from Brasov (Station: Autogara I, 4 LEI) and had a good time. The whole complex is really impressive. The church is simple, but nice and ancient, and the round fortress is really interesting and the highlight of the place. There are a couple of rooms with exhibitions inside, but the rest are just empty with dust and other stuff. It was very nice to climb the wooden stairs and enter into the rooms of the fortress; it is like a vertical maze, with many rooms and secret stairs. The lights inside are not enough, there are big spiderwebs on the walls and dust on the uneven steps, so be careful.
We rated the church with 3 stars because the many rooms inside the fortress need maintainance and a lot of cleaning, and because of the rudeness of the "manager" of the site. We went today, Monday 9 of June at 10:00 am. We entered the complex through the main door, read the description on the wall and continued inside. We tried for 5 minutes to find where to pay our 3.5 LEI each, but we didn't find anybody; there was no ticket window, no person in charge, nothing, just a group of elder tourists taking pictures with their guide. As there was no time to lose, we then decided to enter, and thought maybe we could pay inside. We visited the church and the fortress, still nobody to talk to, all the tourists were gone. We spent about 30 minutes taking pictures and exploring the hidden rooms. Then, when we were leaving, a man was parking his car inside the complex and then looked at us and started yelling. He asked how we entered; we said that through the door, of course (there is only one metal door and a huge fortress around the church, isn't there?). Then he said that the church was closed today, so he asked again how did we enter (still screaming and with a rude attitude); at that point we had to raise our voices to answer him that through the door, which was opened, and that there was another group of tourists too. He said that the group entered a long time ago and that the church was closed for the day. (Why? We don't know. It is supossed to be open from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs... And if it was closed, why was the door opened, the lights inside the fortress turned on and a group of tourists inside?) We left the complex, the man still screaming at us. He closed the big metal door right when we left. There were other tourists outside the church, on the gardens, wanting to enter, but we couldn't see if they were able to enter or not, as we had to take a minivan back to Brasov at that moment.

“Different Church”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

This is different from other churches that you can visit in Europe. It's well preserved and has a lot of rooms and corridors to explore, even if the most of them are empty this is a place that you should visit if you are near by.
