“Stunning site”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

The scale of the Epidaurus Theatre complex is a real surprise, though much has been excavated and described, there is still a huge amount of work to be done.
Unfortunately we visited too early in the season so there were no performances during our holiday but it has been highly recommended to us as a great experience.

“Amazing place”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

Well worth the visit. Amazingly well preserved Ancient Greek theatre. Go early in the day to avoid the heat and the crowds. We were there at 9:00am on a weekday in June and had the place to ourselves. Amazing experience.

“Sing at the center”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Of cause it is exaggeration that you can hear sound of teared piece of paper from top raws, but we liked a lot experiment - our women sang not loudely and we were listening at the middle raws - perfect impression. Views to mountains from raws are very spactacular as well

“A marvel of natural acoustics!”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

When you finally enter the Theatre, you realize how immense it is with a seating capacity of 45000 people. You can watch an ancient tragedy performed in the evening, it's so magical to watch a show in such fantastic venue. The acoustics of this theatre are phenomenal. Try to throw a coin in the centre on the marble stone and have a person at the very top will hear it loud and clear! You can also whisper to your loved one, and he or she will have the same effect. A lot of people choose to sing as well.

“Why can't we sing?”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

The highlight of our holiday used to be a trip to this theatre. We used to practise a song to sing, then wait our turn as different nationalities would sing, play an instrument or recite poems. Sometimes there were choirs or orchestras. It was magical. However the authorities now say it is disrespectful and blow whistles at anyone attempting to entertain the crowd. Now all you hear are tour guides clapping to show off the acoustics and whistles being blown!
They don't mind people smoking or throwing litter though!
What a shame!
