“Peaceful oasis amongst the Olive Trees”

If you are looking for beauty, peace and tranquillity, this is the house for you. Set in a stunning location, surrounded by olive groves and beautiful hills, Lavanda e Pietra has been well thought out, with great care and impressive attention to detail.
Do not come to this house unless you want quiet - the location is designed to relax and shield you from the noisy world. Perfectly located for the historical sites of Epidavros, Nafplio, and other splendid destinations of the Peloponnese, use this serene house as a base from which to explore.
We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Vasili who kindly showed us around the house and grounds. We were overwhelmed by the generous supply of provisions waiting for us – including wine, beer, soft drinks, cheeses, juice, eggs, meats, milk, breads and a cupboard full of groceries. The kindest touch was the 2 gift bags, including lavender bags, a small bottle of Ouzo, and home-made biscuits! The most delicious provision was the home-made jam that our hostess Efi had left for us to enjoy.
Crisp bed linen, thick towels, dressing gowns and slippers made the bedrooms and bathroom welcoming – and a sprig of lavender on the towels was a delightful touch, fresh flowers on the table and in the bedroom and bathroom. Everything is new, and spotlessly clean.
The house is brand new – but it is built as a traditional stone house, with spectacular craftsmanship. The modern 'Shaker-style' kitchen is fully equipped – the appliances are excellent. The bathroom is perfect and there is a second lavatory. Huge fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms and hallway offer plenty of storage if you are staying for long.
The house is divided into 2 apartments. We took the ground floor, furnished with a double and a twin bedroom. A large sitting room is open plan to the kitchen and there is a second sitting room at the front of the building, with a fireplace for cosy evenings. Outside is a generous terrace with table and chairs, to sit and enjoy the view across the valley.
The area is very quiet. With only the occasional passing vehicle, the peace and quiet are exceptional – the only noises being birdsong, the crickets chirping and the rustle of the leaves in the olive trees - as city dwellers, we loved it!
The grounds are very well kept and completely charming. A large swimming pool sits on a terrace beside the house with sunbeds for relaxing. Olive trees grown right up to the house - they were laden with fruit during our visit.
It would be hard to over-state the consideration and effort with which these hosts have prepared the house for guests. It is thoughtful, beautiful and charming.
If you are looking for peace and quiet with plenty of opportunity for sight-seeing the extraordinary area, you will love this house.
