“Perfect and local”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

We stayed here with a large family group including a 10 month old baby and had an amazing stay. The surrounding vineyard and gardens are great to look at while sitting outside drinking La Rosta's well made and locally priced wine (30c per glass or 1.50euro for a 1Litre carafe). This is off the tourist track and makes you feel more like a local than a tourist. The food menu is diverse and includes local delicacies such as snails and duck for unheard of prices (6-8euro). It's a good base for touring Northern Italy and Slovenia as its central location means you are never too far from the border or bigger cities such as Venice. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the service was always kind and helpful. Taxis will most likely be needed getting to and from the hotel.

Wish we had stayed longer, the rooms large, bathrooms also large, the Olympic glitch was that it was so hot the air conditioning played up a bit but the place was such a delight you could look past that.
The food and wine was so cheap, it was unheard of and just excellent, free wifi but only in the little lobby which was fine, also just out the front you could also get it, breakfast was a feast! They had a coffee machine if they weren't there but always got you a cappachino at brekky.
About 3 kilos from Cervignano so a taxi got us to the station easily on time, such a different way to stay rather than the usual hotel, do it!

Room Tip: Rooms are all the same, although I think one in the first floor may have suited disabled travellers...

Our first trip to Italy, so didnt know what to expect. La Rosta is one of those hotels that I will definitely return to. Great value for money, friendly staff, well appointed ''rustic'' style hotel. Close to beaches of Grado, Venice, Trieste airport. Roads are well signposted and easy to drive. The restaurant had a lovely log fire and the rooms were always warm and spotless. Very difficult to find fault. For affecionados of Italian coffee this has to be THE place!!

Room Tip: There is no swimming pool or fitness centre, but a lovely stream runs through the farm so guess its...

We have just returned from Italy after a lovely weekend with friends. Agriturismo La Rosta is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. The hotel was booked by a friend who certainly made the right choice, the location is lovely set among a vineyard and is very close to Trieste Airport and within easy access to the surrounding area. Can honestly say that I had the best nights sleep for a long time the beds were so comfortable and to wake up to a wonderful breakfast was even better. The eggs were delicious and laid by the chickens scratching around the vineyard. The service was excellent with the offer of endless cups of coffee. The room was spotless and with a lovely view of the river running close by. All in all a wonderful place and will certainly be returning.

a very good location - very close to beautiful Aquilea, less then 20 minutes by car to beaches of Grado; region is "biking-friendly" (I have not biked myself). If you are bored with see - mountains are also reachable, I made 1-day excursion to Sauris. The B&B itself: helpful and friendly hosts, nice place: cosy room, everything looks quite newly renovated; good breakfast, nice atmosphere. And last but not least: you can buy a good wine!!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The farmhouse is currently housed in an old stone building that dates back to the end of the 18th century and has been an inn since 1812. Here you can deep in the past and recall the atmosphere of the old Friulian farmer’s house, surrounded by the vineyards and lapped against the stream called "Mortesina," along the ancient Roman track Julia Augusta. The farmhouse has been recently renovated to highlight the old structure of the building that has housed the inn since 1812. Here you can relax in the atmosphere of the typical Friulian farmer’s house and take a seat close to the fireplace, while tasting our "DOC Friuli Aquileia" wines, homemade salami and sausages as well as typical dishes of the local cuisine such as frico (fried cheese dish), donkey stew and many other specialties in season. All the bedrooms, located in the wooden roof attic, boast a very cosy atmosphere and are equipped with private bathroom, air-conditioning, sat TV and heating system. Disabled facilities are also available. A rich breakfast awaits you to start up a new day after a quiet rest. ... more   less
