Our family had a brilliant two week summer holiday in Os Muiños. The cottage is spacious and full of character. The village is a good base for exploring the wild and beautiful “Costa da Morte”. You can expect several brilliant beaches in great landscape – without any crowd. With its final destinations (Muxia and/or Cabo Fisterre) close to Os Muiños, the “Way of St James” gives an extra mythic dimension to the region. Of course, Santiago de Compostela is a class of its own and worth more than one visit (about one hour by car). Additionally, the lively city of A Coruña and some pretty smaller towns along the coast surprised us. If you do not hesitate to drive a bit longer, do not miss to visit the canyon of the river Sil northeast of Ourense and the Ribeira Sacra area (along the UO-508) – including the stunning Monasterio de Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil.
Above all, we enjoyed the great hospitality of the owner’s family. We got any possible assistance to make the holiday a pleasant one.
