This place is very unique and is thus a must while in Bogota. It's a combination of expensive restaurant + nightclub. It's best to go with a group...probably 4+ people as I feel it's best enjoyed with a bunch of others, especially if they like to drink and have a good time.
Some things to consider:
- It's located in Chia outside of Bogota. If you're not driving (and planning to drink), you can take a cab from the city. It costs around 80,000 pesos from La Candelaria area and about 10,000 pesos or so cheaper if you're coming from the northern part of the city. You may need to negotiate this price with several taxi drivers. Don't pay more than 80,000. You don't need to pre-book a taxi for your return as the restaurant can provide you a taxi. The rates are listed at the entrance and there is a dedicated person helping get people into cabs. Same price as getting there mentioned above.
- The restaurant is pricey. First, everyone pays a 15,000 pesos cover to get in. Personally, I feel like this should be waived with a food minimum per table since menu prices are pretty exorbitant. If you're planning to eat a full meal and drink, count on spending at least $40-50 USD or so per person. The mojito bowls are great, but cost around $22 USD. The grilled meat dishes are great, but count on spending $30-40 USD. If you can afford it, the food is definitely worth trying. It's not amazing, but it's some of the better food in Colombia. This is the only arepa you will actually enjoy in my opinion. Tip is included in the final bill.
The place is a lot of fun overall. You will like it if you're a party person. The majority of the crowd, especially later at night, is in their 20s and 30s. After 9-10pm, it definitely feels more like a nightclub and the fun goes till 3am. Oh, and the waitstaff seems to be handpicked...the majority is pretty attractive.
