Rocky Point has a bit of everything. It's close to where we live, and had plenty of 'swings 'n things' for little kids. I've seen seals swimming beneath the pier. Can be a nice place for a romantic walk too.

“A little bit of everything for everyone”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

If you haven't been to Rocky Point park here is what you should bring...
Inline skates, bikes, kites, skateboard, helmet, bar-b-q, picnic blankets, kayak with paddles, mud boots, binoculars, a cooler, swimsuits, suntan lotion, running shoes, birding guide, dogs, and just about anything else you like to do in a park. Here is why

Rocky Point Park has a great sea-wall like trail that runs from the boat launch north of the entrance to the park all the way around to the far side of the inlet.

The waterpark is great for younger kids and is packed on hot days. The change rooms are a little small when the weather is great but bring an extra towel and you can change the kids on the lawn nearby.

The playground is usually busy with two sets of swings (one for the younger set and another for older kids) along with a small short slide and a much longer curly covered slide. That's great for days when there's a little bit of drizzle because it stays pretty dry inside.
The climbing structure has plenty of levels of difficulty too.

The boat launch is busy so keep the kids away from the parking lot. Just next to it is a small winding ramp way that leads down to the water. At high tide this is sometimes underwater but most of the time you can use it to get to a rocky beach area with crabs and other critters to explore.

The main field is pretty clean given the goose population but check before you put down your nice picnic blanket. The picnic tables are big and a few have old school bar-b-ques attached (so bring your own coals if you like).

Half way round the trail there are some steeper hills for those of your on roller blades so be prepared.

And birders will love to estuary which includes herons, eagles, many duck species both native and migratory and lots of song birds too.

Overall you can spend half an hour or an entire day here.

Take some toys and enjoy yourselves.

“The only problem is to find parking...”

Sunny days are very busy and the parking lot is small but it is beautiful
park with a lot of to do!
You can walk, eat. relax, I prefer to go any weekday after work and avoid weekends.

“Way TOO Busy”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Same with my review of White Pine - people from all over flock to Rocky Point in the summer and it's ridiculous. People who like to be seen cramming a volleyball net in the middle of another family's picnic love this park. I guess the tanned masses enjoy sunning themselves in front of a kids playground (hint these people don't have kids). I have to say it is fun to watch people break for the outdoors light up a smoke, pitch a tent in the crowd and lay inside. Oh well to each his own.
