“Home made bread wraps - while you wait”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2014

The meat fillings are excellent, the veggies always fresh, make sure you add the spicy carrots. The sauces are tasty and liberally applied. The prices are very good, BUT the best is the fresh home made bread they make while you wait. Really tasty and never dried out.

I enjoyed fresh bread which was cooked just in time. Taste of sandwich was awesome and beside the great quality, the prices were really cheap.

I recommend the mixed lamb & chicken mix Denair sandwich.

“the best deal in the town!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

We were very impressed to see that the wrap is prepared right there, everything is very fresh and well prepared. A family of 4, all of us were very happy with our Donair selection: lamb, chicken, falafel. I loved the pickled vegetables!
The price couldn't be better, this place is the best deal in the area.

“Donair for lunch or dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

If the Hamburger is the fast food story in America, the Donair or Pyros is the fast food of the Middle East. First developed in Turkey, it has spread throughout the world, finding its first foothold in Canada in Halifax. It is largely this version, the Halifax Donair, that we meet today.

This cross between McDonalds and Subway, results in beef, lamb or chicken wrapped together with a salad for a tasty and nutritious meal. The distinguishing part depends on the Donair maker and Mega Donair does it with a difference.

First, the wrap is prepared at the time of assembley. No stale pita bread here. The selection of condiments and salads goes beyond tomatoes, onions, and lettuce although they are there is you want them. In addition, there are pickled cucumber and carrots, parsley salad, peppers, and feta cheese. Didn't I say 'tasty'.

Furthermore, each Saturday, a special Persian dish is featured but you have to order on Friday. Falafel is also a regular item. Last time, I saw a Persian potato salad with chicken breasts being offered. Things like this keep me coming back.

For under $6, you get a meal that will get you easily through the day. There's even a special for students. Don't forget to tip. This is a mom and pop operation.

If there is a downside, it is that the shop is in a strip mall on Clarke Rd, that is easily missed. It's on the east side of the road just past Glenayre in Port Moody. Yes, you can eat in.
