“Lovely stay & wonderful food”
Reviewed February 27, 2010

Lovely, welcoming hotel. Mainly wanted to add that the food here is also excellent. The restaurant 'Curbside Brasserie' offers suberb quality food, which is sourced locally. The food tastes great, and is beautifully cooked and presented is great value. Would definitely recommend.

Very welcoming and friendly hotel. Rooms good size and very clean. Breakfast was great. A good selection of food but I dread to think what size the 'hearty' breakfast was if the 'normal' was anything to go by - I couldn't finish this size!! Overall good standard hotel with excellent travel links by bus or tram every 10 minutes right outside. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed there for three nights. As you walk through the door there is a warm welcome. It's like home from home. The room was fantastic and very clean and modern. The bath room was cleaned to a high standrard and there were fresh towels everyday. The breakfast was outstanding with a lot of choice.

This family run hotel is the best that i have stayed in for a while i would highly recommend anyone staying here you will not be dissapointed at all.

My wife and I spent a couple of nights at the Briardene - and we can thoroughly recommend staying there.

Despite arriving hours early (we were travelling up by coach and it arrived 1.5 hours ahead of schedule), they were so welcoming. We got there around 8 - and check in is at 1:30. But they settled us into the guest lounge, brought us tea, biscuits and newspapers - and let us nod off in there! They also got our room ready as quickly as possible - and so we were able to check in at 11:30, two hours early.

The rooms themselves are decorated to a high standard and full of thoughtful touches. The bed is very comfortable (we got two great nights sleep).

We did not dine there in the evening, but can report that breakfast is top class - the produce is clearly high quality and was delicious.

Transport into town is also ideal, with a bus stop and Lauderdale Avenue tram stop directly outside.

We cannot recommend the Briardene highly enough.
