“Family Friendly Boat Cruise, Not High Adventure - Lanai Wild Dolphin Snorkel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2011

This trip was booked because our other Lanai snorkeling trips were canceled due to low attendance one day and a broken boat the next day. Although it was beautiful to be on the water, it's a large boat with 135 people. We did see dolphins, but I wished we were on the ocean raft where the guests were touching the dolphins. We were relatively far away from the dolphins and had to rush to one side of the boat and fight with 134 other people to see the dolphins. Due to rough conditions, which were not apparent, we didn't even snorkel in Lanai! We looked at the dolphins and then cruised back to Maui and snorkeled off the road to Lahaina - which could of been reached by car. Super lame. And the food was very average, not good. I wouldn't recommend this trip unless you have never snorkeled or you have a family and you're afraid of a little adventure. We got yelled at several times for having our feet off the deck to try to view the dolphins. Not so much fun.

“Excellent Crew and Educational Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2011

Our family of 4 went on the Molokini and Turtle snorkeling trip in August with the PWF.
This is our first time on a trip such as this and it exceeded our expectations. Our kids age 10 & 12 loved it. It was an early start in the morning but once we all landed at Molokini Crater we all couldn't wait to get in the water. Lots of fish to see and take pictures of. The water was calm in early morning and we all rented a wet suit top. Water is not cold but just made the experience in the water more comfortable. The crew were excellent and knowledgeable and patient with beginner snorkelers. We all enjoyed the educational part of the trip. The food and drinks were great as well. Kids loved their Shirley Temples while the grown ups had a couple of Mai Tai's. Highly recommend this tour. We also signed our family to become a PWF member. Something worth while but inexpensive.

“Amazing Adventure with a great crew, for a good cause”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2011

We went on the Molokini and Turtle Arches Wild Side trip with Capt. Erik, Dana and Dov. They were all great and made the trip a better experience because they were there. With degrees in Marine Biology, they shared their knowledge freely, making us all feel they had the best job in Maui along the way. The boat is small, holding 49, but they limit it to 34. I watched another snorkel trip go out with 140 on board and was happy we chose this trip. The 3 crew members were available 100% of the time to answer questions. They held a "snorkel 101" class for those who needed it, then jumped in the water to lead reef tours. The Captain even BBQ's lunch after Turtle Arches. Overall, an outstanding day, well worth the extra few bucks to be with a smaller group, and all precedes go to PWF as well.

“There is no better group!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2011

My daughters and I went out on the Molokini and Turtle Arches snorkeling excursion and absolutely loved it. The crew on the boat is not only extremely friendly but some of the most educated people you can meet (since most if not all are marine biologists). They were more than happy to explain the things we were seeing and gave us such a great appreciation for the areas we were visiting. We saw some of the most beautiful fish and then were even more lucky when it came to seeing turtles. Not only did we see them at the swim site but were lucky enough to have them swim across the bow of the boat and Captain Doug stopped the boat to allow us extra viewing.

I would recommend to anyone going out, to take up the crew on the wetskin tops that they offer for $10 per person. It made it so that we were not cold in the water, though we were in Hawaii, the water temperature was still colder than expected. Outside of that the wonderful thing about this crew was there was no hocking of items and services. This excursion also does not cram the boat. Though the boat is certified for 140 people the max that is ever on the boat is 130, allowing plenty of room for everyone. When you see the other boats out on the water with other excursions you realize how important this really is.

This group is for anyone who wants a total top notch trip, with top notch people who are knowledgeable and caring. Total first class experience.

“Pacific Whale Foundation Snorkel Lanai and Dolphin Watch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2011

Departure was actually on Front Street in Lahaina.
We left Lahaina at 8:00 am and looked for dolphin along the way to no avail. On the way out we had cakes and fruit and saw flying fish. Then we stopped a ways from the only city on Lanai and saw a multitude of dolphin swimming and jumping and twirling. We then proceeded to a reef not commonly visited because our weather allowed for calm, clear waters. We saw coral but not a whole lot of fish. After getting back on the boat, we saw a large sea turtle floating on the water and then disappearing into the depths. We then had a nice barbeque lunch of grilled chicken, hot dogs or veggie burgers with pasta salad and pretzels. Drinks of Mai Tais, beer, wine or sodas were also served. Returning to Lahaina around 1: 00 pm - A nice 5 hour trip for around $65.00 per adult.
