“Nice & cozy”
Reviewed October 15, 2008

We had a 1 week Turkish western coastal trip by rented car and chose the Sirince Evlery to stay for 3 days.

***** 5 stars for Ahmet Kocak (the chief-in-place), a lovely, friendly person who took a lot of time to have a nice chat.

**** 4 stars for the hotel itself. Actually, we had the whole pension on 2 floors for ourselves, and it was charming. We surely had no "first class" expectations, but the place was a real bargain and we had a relaxing, quiet time there (except the usual Mosque interruptions, but, hey, this is Turkey...;)

**** 4 stars for breakfast/dinner! Though we had to walk from our pension to get there (meeting some donkeys), the terrace where we were seated to eat was excellent (undisturbed sunrise/sunset just for the two of us). Lovely. And again, Mr Kocak was a great help.

**** 4 stars for Sirince: a quiet, lovely little town with few tourists only; the ideal place to start your round trips to the nearby sightseeing places.

All in all --- a great experience.

We spent three nights in this charming place. My husband, myself and our eighteen year old grandson. The hotel is set amid an old world village.

The innkeeper met us and saw to it our stay was comfortable and our needs met. The breakfasts on his lovely patio were delicious, fresh and graciously served.

We had a house to ourselves and it was as local as it could be. We felt at home and welcomed not just by the innkeeper, but by the little community as well.

We are not ones to stay in large international hotels, but rather to stay where we can feel part of the community. Sirince was lovely and we recommend it to those with a sense of adventure and desire to be part of the countryside rather than observers.

We were staying at another establishment and wanted to stay in Sirince for another day and the place we are staying did not have room. They referred us to the subject hotel. The owner actually came to our old hotel in order to help us with our bags and guide us to his establishment.

The hotel is slightly off the beaten path and you would most likely not stumble upon it by accident.

The owner is well educated and speaks English well (as well as Italian and French (and of course Turkish)). He originally grew up in Istanbul and later spent time in Eastern Turkey and France. He tells the story that he was on holiday in the early nineties and visited Sirince and on the first day he was there, he fell in love with the village and bought property. He restored the present location to its present condition over the next five years.

The owner and the property are charming. Renovations in the village are controlled in order to maintain the village's 19th Century character and this property is no exception. The room and property are clean, but do not expect big city, five star luxury accomodations or you will be disappointed.

The room appeared to have air conditioning and heating, but we did not need or use them. The towels, sheets and beds were clean, but rustic. The rooms are small by big city standards, but adequate. There are dirt and stone paths that lead to the hotel and rooms and your shoes could possibly get dirty, especially if it were raining.

Breakfast is included in the price and is a very good example of a Turkish breakfast. Fresh bread, fresh (delicious!) homemade jams (fig, strawberry and quince), olives, cheese, cucumber, tomato, a boiled egg and coffee or tea.

The owner is there every day and seems genuinely interested in pleasing his customers. If anything should be a problem, it seems he would do his best to remedy it.

The price for the room was modest and compares in price range to pensions close by. There is one hotel up at the top of the hill (also reviewed at this site) that is more upscale, but the price is also significantly more.

We had no problems at the establishment.

We spent three days in Sirince and Selçuk visiting the area and two nights at the Hotel Sirince Evleri. Having booked in advance but not knowing exactly how to find it, we phoned before arriving and were welcomed by a nice landlady who helped us park our car (it is a tiny steep village)and then walked with us to our room.Imagine a garden , a small house and inside an exquisitely comfortable air conditionned room plus bathroom, Every piece of furniture had obviously been carefully chosen.
In the morning we had a gorgeous breakfast on a terrace overlooking the village. On the second day the owner came to meet us and had breakfast with us. We talked about the place of course, its history and he gave us loads of information about Sirinçe as well as about the whole area and the rest of our trip.
For sure if one day we are lucky enough to go back to Turkey we'll try and go back to this particular place which was one of the highspot of our vacations
