Had a wonderful meal here. We drove up from to Sirence from Selçuk (where we were staying) late in the afternoon. The day trippers were all gone, and most of the shops were winding down. The town has a great end of the day atmosphere. When we approached entered Sirinciem Restaurant (a beautiful canopied garden overlooking the road), Ali, the mild-mannered proprietor, gave us great service and made us feel more like guests in his home than customers. Food was delicious. We liked it so much that the next day, after a busy afternoon of sightseeing (Priene, Miletus, Didim) we decided to make a return trip. We could think of no better way to unwind and enjoy our second evening in the area. If you're staying in Selçuk and want a more memorable meal, it's well worth the short (and beautiful) drive out of town.

After a day at Ephesus we wanted to get away from the crowd for dinner. Nearby Sirince Village promises to be back to its local life after dusk, so we winded our way up there. After covering the village we were drawn to Sirincem Restaurant by the tree-canopied garden. We were the first to arrive at about 7 pm, but we were made immediately comfortable by the quietly charming young host and owner, Ali. He's a Sirince native and he's got a natural gift for local hospitality. His friend Gökhan, who helped him host in French and English, and his staff did a great job tending to the patrons. When the evening started to get chilly he brought out blankets and wrapped them around everyone. When more patrons came and he was out of blankets, he went inside to get his own coats.

The food was excellent (we had a moussaka and lamb kebabs, along with a half-dozen mezze, some we've not seen elsewhere), and quite reasonably priced (two of us stuffed ourselves, and each had a glass of local fruit wine, and it came to around 60 turkish lira). A fun aspect of the place was being able to watch the activity on the street below from the garden as locals went about their business (tractor driver hanging out at the convenience store, teen knocking over his motorcycle, produce merchant delivering fruits, guy blowing out the fuse to convenience store and everyone getting involved in fixing it). After dinner we chatted up the hosts and got the lowdown on the history of the village. I would come here everyday if I were staying anywhere nearby. In fact, this place makes me wish I had a month every spring to come stay here.

Right on the main street as you enter the market area, Sirincem has a great outdoor area under pomegranate and quince trees. The food, service and atmosphere were all spot on. We ended up going there 3 times in a our 3 day visit. I especially loved the grilled Sea Bream which came with a deliciously fresh salad. Good Turkish Coffee too. Proprieter Ali is very nice and welcoming.

Sirince town has been one of my favorite little Town in Istanbul. It is located right on the top of mountains with so much greens/nature. the air is so fresh and clean here, which makes your appetite better. Then this is the place you need to find ;)

My family spent a few nights in Sirince and visited Ali at his restaurant 3 times. The food was outstanding and the setting delightful, but what brought us back was the fantastic hospitality Ali showed us.
His Meze's were fresh, varied and delicious and I highly recommend getting Ali to make you freshly squeezed orange juice!
The setting is perfect - tables and chairs under the trees, just above the cobbled road below. A must if you're in town.
