“Lovely setting and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I spent three nights in this cozy, unique spot. Our room was in a cottage down a walk through a lovely green garden with fruits and vegetables freshly planted in one area. Not far away farmers were doing spring planting. Wisteria was blooming outside our room and we loved hearing the roosters crowing in the distance.

The included breakfast started with a Meze plate followed by whatever you might want to order, all served in a lovely setting. The hotel also serves dinner and we were so taken with the setting that we ate there (had delicious sea bass) two nights.

Sirince is a lovely little hill town and fun to wander about in. If you venture up from the small shop intensive tourist area, you will find yourself in some quiet back streets with people out and about doing their daily chores. Small tractors and wagons make their way up and down the stone streets. Some nice photo opportunities will present themselves.

My wife and I will long have great memories of Kullu Konklari and Sirince.

We drove up into the hills along a country road dotted with small farms and homes, olive trees, horses, and sheep. The road ended in Sirince. Imagine little Greek houses plunked down in the Italian countryside and that's Sirince.
With no trouble, as it's kind of hard to get lost in Sirince, we arrived at the gates of Gullu Konaklari. We were warmly greeted by Zeynep, the manager, and treated to glasses of one of the town's locally made fruit wines. I don't remember which fruit wine this one was but I drank the whole glass.
My husband and I stayed here for four nights while visiting Ephesus and the region around it. Our room in the main residence, Rosa Farreri, offered a very comfortable king size bed, an enormous bathroom, plenty of closet space, and wonderful views of the town and the countryside. The bedroom itself was not big but spacious enough for two and was simply but prettily decorated. It was filled with sunlight during the day and good night time lighting.
We enjoyed plentiful breakfasts with eggs made to order and lots of cheeses and meats. We also ate dinner here two nights, with a fire in the fireplace, candle light throughout the dining room, and a small but very nice selection of wine. Both evenings were so pleasant.
The staff was the best. So friendly and warm and welcoming and funny and delightful to talk with, they took good care of us. The hotel, and the village, was an oasis of peace and comfort after a hectic week in Istanbul. I hope to return one day.

Room Tip: The second floor rooms of the residence provide great views.

We went without knowing a thing about the place and we found it to be a beautiful place, located on a hill with a great view of the little town. Lots of attention was paid to details in all the rooms and community areas. Everything looked beautiful and one could tell that it was done with love. Both the owner and the staff were concerned about our well being and went out of their way to make sure that all our needs were met and that we were comfortable at all times. I definitely recommend it to everyone visiting Ephesus.

This was a charming hotel in a very nice small town. The gate opened to reveal a fountain in the middle of a courtyard and then we were ushered to an enclosed area with comfortable sofas and given a lovely drink. Our room was at a separate cottage that faced an orchard filled with olive, kiwi, apricot, and pomegranate trees. We had a room with an attached living room. The extra bed for my daughter was actually a pullout sofa bed. The furnishings were charming and made the room feel like country house in France. There was a kettle and instant coffee for our use as well.

Meals were served in the library/dining room. As the guest rooms don’t have a TV, guests can use the games and books found here. The meals were really good, featuring some Turkish dishes and Continental fare like steak and lamb stew. The breakfast was also nice. We had a small selection of cheese and fruit sourced from the town and skillet cooked eggs and toast that was really delicious.

The ladies at reception were especially warm and friendly. They even allowed my daughter to use a computer one afternoon. We really enjoyed staying here.

This is such a charming place.Beautiful setting on top of the hill. Lovely gardens. Fireplace in the room. Two large community living rooms where breakfast was served with large picture windows. Breakfast was excellent, and the owner and wife are the ultimate hosts. I would definitely stay here again.

Visting Ephesus in November I was looking for a comfortable haven, not too expensive, but where I would be well looked sfter and would enjoy relaxing in. Gullu Konaklari exceeded my expectations. It is a beautiful quiet place, with warm log fires burning in the cool autumn evening and sheltered gardens in which to enjoy the sunshine. Sirence is a find - with some good inexpensive eateries which I preferred to dinner in the hotel which wasn't worth the quite high prices.

Sirince lives up to its name and is indeed every bit charming as all the reviews say. My husband and I live in NYC where true quiet is hard to come by, so we were so happy to stumble upon this little village and warm, beautiful hotel. We stayed in one of the two Rose Residence rooms and loved it. Clean, great ammenities, small fridge, very comfortable and cozy bed. Our room had no television which was a welcome change. The breakfast is beautiful and delicious. The staff is warm and welcoming. The property is beautifully landscaped. A few locals will tell you in a round about way that there are more "authentic" experiences, but we loved this place and if we find ourselves back in Turkey one day, we will surely be back. Our favorite place to eat in Sirince was the very charming Ocakbasi restaurant, up one of the quiet winding streets. The upstairs room will bring you back 100 years and the food is basic, yet delicious.
