I have gone often to Gasthaus (Guest House) Klammgeist over the past several years and am never disappointed. Whether you go there alone or reserve space for a group, you can plan to experience an excellent meal. You can chose from regional fare but prepared with wonderful sauces and light, flavorful sides. I enjoy immensely the Austrian foods but sometimes my mouth just craves a big plate of Cevapcici (Balkan sausage dish). Try the fish dishes - amazing! Emel will prepare dishes to your liking. If in Bavaria, take the small road behind Mittenwald, Germany, following signs to Leutasch, Austria, into the narrow valley used by Napoleon when he marched south...picturesque surroundings and the freshest air. Now the valley is frequented by skiers for its incredible cross country runs.

Had dinner there several times; it's a family run restaurant, very cozy and warm. The food is a mixture between typical tyrolean and balkan food. It's very good, although maybe a little bit hard to digest... :)

I absolutely love this place. I've lived in Germany for more than 20 years and have never had such a great Knödel and Kaiserschmarrn. I was there with a fairly large group (lots of foodies) and we all agreed that the food was fantastic. The owner was also so friendly and attentive and made the experience even better. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere with an open wood fired oven.

If you are strict and love very precise and clear things... avoid this place ! If you are ready for a long drive to the end of the Schranz valley, 15 minutes from Leutasch, and ready to wait for a rather long time in a very nice and romantic setting, not being sure of what you'll really get, come here and you'll spend a nice funny moment and will eat a very good meal. This is an old barn, nicely decorated, the bosses are two elder men, Greek and Romanian (?), serving Austrian and Balkanic food..and whatever their fantasy tells them to serve (we saw mussels). The speciality is grilled meat and fish. The prices are very mild. We had a great fish plate, a meat plate, aperitive and a lot of wine for 36€. Avoid to wear your best clothes as the room is rather smoky, due to the grill. Reservations really advised, as often fully booked

Like all local food, everything is heavily greased and buttered. Atmosphere is unique, and the fireplace is lighted. The owner is very kind but the menu is limited... and so is his English. Good to have his 14 years old son around.
