Waterfalls itself are really amazing and even in the middle of the summer there was plenty of water to demonstrate size of the falls. Trail up is nice with good surface and should be ok for everyone, at least little bit in shape, to make it.
Because falls are beautiful they are attracting many people and could be crowded. We went there during a rainy day in July and even though it was overcrowded, but with increasing altitude people are less frequent.
If you are staying in Zell am Zee / Kaprun area, make sure to have your summer pass with you as it´s granting free access to he falls.

We were on our way from innsbruck to zell am see and just wanted to see the largest waterfall in Austria then continue on. We didn't know about the 8 euro to get into the park and the 2.5 euro entrance or the 5 euro parking which is good value if you spend a few hours but a rip off for 45 mins as there is no.cheaper option.or more there. Otherwise it was amazing from the bottom and probably better from the top. Just plan to spend some time there

We took a taxi up to the third waterfall, which cost 9 euros per adult; this took about 30 mins from the Wasser Waterwelt centre, but was well worth it. If you get there before 10, you can get a taxi even further up the valley, to the Tauernhaus, which is apparently even better. We walked a gently undulating trail, for about 20 mins up the valley (i.e. away from the falls) and stopped and had a beer (locally brewed) at the Veitenalm. This is a tiny alm in the middle of nowhere - an absolutely idyllic spot (lavatory a bit basic but clean and at least they have one!). We didn't eat there, but they had bread and ham, and cheese - all of which looked and smelt delicious. We then walked back down the valley and down past the falls all the way down to the Wasserwelt place, which took about an hour and a half, taking it very gently. The trail is increasingly crowded as you go down, as are the restaurants, which we would avoid another time - far nicer to eat up at the top. The falls are spectacular, of course, and there are lots of wonderful photo opportunities, but so many people! I dread to think what it's like at the height of the summer. And lots if touristy tat shops at the bottom of course. I would go again, but I would definitely explore the top end of the valley rather than spend much time at the falls. Oh, and although it didn't take us long to get down, it would obviously take quite a bit longer getting up, as it is fairly steep, but nothing too difficult for anyone of even moderate fitness.

We were in the waterfalls anf they are very impressive! We went all the way to the top with the twins that are 13 yo
. The way after stop No. 8 is very hard but if you are in shspe it shouldn't be a problem to go yo stop No. 11. Take in mind thst you'll nedd about 3-4 hours to go to the top and back. A must see!
