Well, the cat is definitely out of the bag, better late than never and all that.

Confession. We did it. We thought if we said nothing about our beloved Casa

Roca, impossibly great Jim and Evelyn, we would somehow have the beautiful

house, impossibly beautiful view, splendid walk through the adjacent forest,

the gardens, the arbors, the best food on Caminguin and possibly in the Philippines,

all to ourselves, all would be secret, all would be ours, beautiful Evelyn cooking away, her

happy yet somehow wisely touched laughter, Jim's effervescent good cheer

and ever present readiness to engage in wonderful chatting about everything

under the sun, but sadly for us, gladly for Jim, Evelyn and Casa Roca,

the world is onto them.

In a word, there is no other place on Caminguin. Jim and Evelyn and Casa

Roca are the be all and end all of that isle. If we ever went back to Caminguin,

it would only be to stay at Casa Roca, and we probably would not move from there.

All is so very comfortable in a gentle way, clean, completely clean, yet in way

interfering, quiet, yet often with much laughter. We have a parting image of Jim

and Evelyn as we walk down the road. They have been to town for food supplies

so that Evelyn can weave her magic. They come round a bend, Jim driving his

beloved Yamaha and Evelyn behind. He calls out a cheering greeting, that great big

grin of his, and Evelyn leans back as they pass, her long, lithe figure stretched as she

she raises her arm in a weaving embrace.

If you ever find yourself going to Caminguin, save yourself a lot of trouble. Sleep here. Eat here.

You will love it.

Room Tip: They are all fine, but the large double is of course quite grand.

Having just returned from the beautiful island of Camiguin I had to share with you all my experience at Casa Roca. The rooms are lovely, simple but with gorgeous views of the sea. The food was awesome, Evelyn makes chicken with herbs and mango that is absolutely delicious. The staff were extremely helpful, kind and attentive to all of our needs. The island itself is fantastic, trips to the hot springs, and nearby waterfalls were fantastic. Having this wonderful inn to come back to after a great day in the sun was just perfect. Can't wait to re-visit!

Robert, thank you so much for staying with us and also for the wonderful review.
Evelyn sends her regards and wants you to know we put coat hooks in the rooms! (A bonus) Of course she is still working her magic in the kitchen and we have also added some new staff to increase the service side of things. Slowly Slowly.
We look forward to your next visit and again thank you for the great review...it motivates us to keep going and do better.
Cheers and safe travels,
Jim

We are a couple from Italy and we lived in Camiguin throughout 2012. We went many times at Casa Roca, eating, drinking and laughing with Evelyne and JIm. What can we say about this paradise?! Well… if you are looking for exellent food, relax, fun, great music, nature, wonderful view on the sea, meet people from all around the world, clean and comfortable room to sleep, quiet atmosphere and....positive vibrations.....so this is the right place to go. We miss the island for many things and Casa Roca is one of these.
The place by itself is so amazing, just on the sea (don' t loose the sunset from there) and surrounded by nature, but what makes the difference is the hosts!!! Jim and Evelyne, with their infectious laugh, are the right people to run this place. Evelyne cooks just in front of you, so you can watch her making delicious dishes in a beautiful and very clean kitchen. She loves to cook and makes it with passion, so food is excellent!!
Don' t miss Casa Roca if you are in Camiguin, you must go there!!!

We were due to stay at Casa Roca for 2 nights but because the ferry from Bohol was cancelled we couldn't make it. We did finally get to Camiguin 2 days later so we thought we would drop in for some food, and boy are we glad we did!

The Inn is in a lovely little spot overlooking the sea near the old volcano and although it was dark when we arrived we could tell it was a beautiful place. There are lots of seats outside to choose and we had a lovely romantic spot near the sea that was a little bit away from the rest of the restaurant. We shared a jug of mango margarita and my quesadillas were absolutely delicious.

Evelyn and Jim were great hosts and couldn't have been more hospitable. They provide very good value for food as well as rooms and I hope they keep going as they have a lovely place.

You must visit even if only to see the amazing toilet!!!

Hey!!!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful review guys. You guys are amazing and yes...it was too bad the weather went bad. In fact after you left the seas turned ugly again and some other guests also couldn't make it. But we are so glad you did find us and that you enjoyed your time with us at the Inn and also Camiguin. It's really a great little island and we love it so much.

We continue to have nights of spontaneous music and I have added a third guitar to the "stable" for guests to enjoy!

Evelyn sends her regards and we both hope that you can return and visit us again.

Cheers,
Jim

Everything was so perfect!!! After staying at Caves (not recommended!) and Seascape (quite ok) im so glad i found Casa Roca Inn! Its tranquility, peaceful clean surroundings, great ocean view, the very friendly staff, the house, the veranda and the food were just perfect for me!

I studied HRM and Tourism in Switzerland and i have high expectations in hospitality. After backpacking Luzon and surfing Siargao i decided to spend couple of days in Camiguin Island. This place just topped everything i expected and didnt expected!

ACCOMODATION:
I got a standard basic room with shared bathroom for 1000 pesos breakfast included. It didnt bother me coz the bathroom is just next to the room and there are 2 bathrooms available (there's an openair shower/toilet with waterfall :) for 3 rooms.

FOOD:
Excellent! Best food since im travelling Philippines! I love any kind of vegetables and in the Phils, vegetables are rare for some reasons i couldnt understand. But in Casa Roca its already included to the main meal! Thumbs up for that!
So main meal you'll get vegetables included. Breakfast you'll get fruits with it! The portions are big for reasonable prices with very good food quality. I tried other restaurants in the island but i highly recommend Casa Roca.

STAFF / OWNER:
The staff are well-trained in service, very friendly, courteous and sincere. Jim and Evelyn, the cutest couple ive seen in the Phils! They are both so hearty great people and they made my stay at Casa Roca very comfortable. . .like at home.

So all in all, i highly recommend Casa Roca for single backpacker, couples and small groups! I will definetely come back to this place!
Once youre here, its very hard to leave! You'll get this laidback unforgettable relax feeling for sure!

Thank you very much for everything!
Jenny

"Something Different" is Casa Roca's tag line as seen in them menu. It's not your regular homestay or bed and breakfast. More like staying at your friend you knew way back from highschool who you really love hanging out with. This place is a something you have thought of in one of those idle moments staring blankly in the computer in your cubicle wondering what the hell it is your are really doing with your life. This is that other place you should be at. And right now you should go as you read this. No need for me to repeat what that others have said. This is one of the best places you can stay at in the fire island of Camiguin.

Room Tip: Get the much coveted Veranda room with the view of the sea.

Guys, we can't thank you enough for staying with us and also for the great review. We try so hard to make everything good for our guests and like always you guys became our friends and part of our "family" at Casa Roca.
Escape from Ordinary is out slogan and yes...we try really hard to keep to the point and that's for our guests to have a wonderfully different experience outside the typical hotel/resort setting.
Miss Ev's sends her best and we can only hope to see you guys again.
Safe travels and have fun.
